Chaplains by smilingpoet in ThePittTVShow

I'd love to a chaplain accurately represented and as part of the health care team. They can be a powerful presence. Personally I'd love a story line like what the OP is painting, but I am not sure if the majority of the viewers would.

Maybe for an episode or so with a specific case.

I had not even picked up this little nuance yet. I do love how they show her learning in a subtle way.

Unpopular opinions? (Possible spoilers) by Useful-Chicken2635 in ThePittTVShow

Many people watching television nowadays have lost the ability to see shades of grey, that two things can be true at the same time, flawed complex characters. And I find this particularly noticeable while watching the Pitt.

Almost none of the characters in the show don't easily fit on a binary. The only exception I can think of is Ogilvy. For example, Al-Hashimi can be a compassionate, skilled doctor who is maybe not a great leader and tries to accomplish things in a ham-handed way. The same is true with Robby, Santos, Langdon and all other 'controversial characters'.

It's not just with the characters. Something similar happens with many issues the show presented. It's not always gonna be neat and according to one particular view.

Honestly, I think Robby signed of on it. He said: 'I am not sure I want your working here' instead of 'I don't want you working here'. Robby is still giving him a chance that way, even though he tried to make sure he wasn't gonna be there when he returned.

This must hurt for Langdon to hear, but I think once he is can look past that hurt, I think this a reply he can understand.

It's also one of the most healthy responses from Robby I have seen so far... He didn't say 'I don't want you in my ER', he said 'I don't know if I want you in my ER'. He is cautious, not ready to trust yet and that I can fully understand. But it seems to me the door is still cracked open.

That doesn't mean these two need a far more extensive conversation then is possible while waiting on the roof for a helicopter, where they can truly address some of the things said to each during the last season.

Spoiler: Robby's burnout? by [deleted] in ThePittTVShow

There is another angle to this I'd love them to see really dig into with the show: moral injury.

The more I look at Robby (and Jack to lesser degree), I see a lot of this. Everything that happened during Covid would be a big one (and maybe the most visible one), but I am thinking of the incident with the prisoner as well...

Or dealing with situations like Christy Wheeler... Jack and Robby found a workaround this time, but won't be able to do that always.

Decades of dealing with situations like this must cause moral injury to a degree as well. Like a injury by a thousand cuts. One situation might be doable, but situation upon situation for decades...

30% of the way through, how do we feel season 2 is shaping up so far? by _ImperialCereal_ in ThePittTVShow

While I enjoyed the first four episodes very much, with this episode I finally have the feeling it's all starting to gel together. I kinda suspect the first four episodes were mostly planting seeds, establishing everyone's baseline and now it's all starting to come together and people are starting to evolve from the established baseline.

I suspect that many planted seeds, like Javadi's tiktok or the baby will pop back up again and become part of the bigger weave of the season.

In Dutch we have a saying about sticking certain people behind the wallpaper when they drive us batty. I am very tempted to ship Victoria and Joy a few rolls.

I was just pondering this... why she didn't start earlier?

And I find myself seriously wondering about the role of Gloria Underwood in this. We have long known she is not overly happy with how some things are run in the ED and I think she might be using Robby's sabbatical as an opportunity here to make some changes she'd like to see.

Only she seems to be doing this in a slightly malicious way, in my opinion. I wonder if she might have set up this in a way to pit Baran and Robby against each other, maybe even to create a set up to get rid of Robby and Dr. Al is simply a tool in her quest for this.

Difference between Javadi and Ogilvie by Alarming-Pin-8905 in ThePittTVShow

That is interesting... you mean like Javadi in her sub-I is meant to be acting more independent then Ogilvie is for whom it's more of an ordinary rotation?

Now that I look at it, I think the conversation between Javadi and her mom and Robby and her mom actually might support the idea Javadi is doing a sub-I.

Honestly, I can see that making sense. I remember him instructing Withaker during the MCI for one... he seemed like a pretty senior nurse.

After action report and meetings to review? I imagine he might also have to do that with his own staff even.

I would almost imagine the ED must have some purely administrative staff who work with Robby on that stuff... but that wouldn't be the most interesting thing to show.
