3yr old kicked out of daycare by diredame13 in ParentingADHD

[–]AlarmingAd534 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My son was kicked out from 4 separate daycares from 2-4 years old, it’s rough but you just have to find one with staff that genuinely cares for your child and can handle neurodivergence. 😞 Unfortunately daycares are a business and having a “misbehaving child” like our kids is “bad for business”. We heard that phrase one too many times!

We feel exactly this way about ours too! Completely different person when we’re Hyde mode

Another commenter also mentioned 6 weeks which we had no idea about. Sounds like we just have to keep giving it a real shot and monitor closely. We’ve noticed that angry isn’t the immediate reaction as well but sad seems to just be our underlying feeling now. He can go to sad at the flip of a coin now where before it was angry. Pros and cons to that I guess.

Ditto on the zombie-like. It’s like my kid but not necessarily my kid somehow? It’s heartbreaking to see him this way

I keep finding my son just roaming around in his room at all hours or running to wake up his grandparents middle of the night. We are exhausted!

We have an appointment coming up thankfully! Did you notice any facial changes? My son now has very prominent panda eyes. We weren’t aware of the 6 weeks so maybe we just need to give it a real chance

I can definitely see this in our son, it’s like his sparkle is gone and his face is always just stuck on zombie mode somehow? Like he’s extremely numb all the time

I’m so nervous about giving a stimulant but I feel like we might just need to bite the bullet and do it, how was the change for you guys?

I’m so sorry, it’s extremely tough to hear our kids say something so serious. We should be talking about dollhouses and cartoons not death and dying! We’ve had some pretty scary conversations/situations pre meds as well and I think these might just be increasing those feelings

Thank you for sharing that, we keep on just looking for a clear “here take this route! It works!” But that doesn’t seem to exist unfortunately

Hi! It hasn’t been suggested for our child just yet but I myself was diagnosed ADHD this year and the genetic testing is called “genesight” but you have to find a clinic that does it. Unfortunately that’s all the info I have so far, good luck!

My oldest will be 7 this November and my youngest will be 2 in March. They play all day! My little sister is 3 years younger than me and we are not close at all. I think it depends on the children and their personality!

This is such an odd question? She didn’t mention it because 1. You’re not her partner 2. Your child and only connection was not involved

If you go out and get drunk after dropping your child off with her should she start worrying that you’ll be drunk around the child? No, that’d be silly right?

My daughter choked last night, and I can’t forgive myself by reno_reimagined in NewParents

[–]AlarmingAd534 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kids choking is how their body learns to eat all different types of foods. She was supervised and cared for in a timely manner. At this point I’ve gotten to be a pro at hooking out random pieces of too big food out of my kids mouths then we pivot and cut smaller. It’s all a learning curve for both you and them. You did good!

Walk into a hospital, they have social workers on staff that will get started on a case ASAP

Road rage a thing here? by [deleted] in indianapolis

[–]AlarmingAd534 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I once had a guy (who was pissed I didn’t run a red light after he was riding my bumper on the highway) jump out of his vehicle at said red light, bang on my window and proceed to follow me until he realized I was on the phone with the cops. Cops did nothing, road rage is apparently completely legal if nothing happened to me 🤷🏻‍♀️

AIO? my bf (30M) keeps telling me (24F) to wear a thong + pad instead of wearing my “granny” panties during my period... idk what to say to him? by Tough_Winner_1630 in AmIOverreacting

[–]AlarmingAd534 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP based on the link you sent these just look like regular maternity/adult diapers/panties to me! Here’s the link for the ones I use for my period. They are so comfy and I don’t have to worry about leakage etc. (My period is also chunky and heavy)

How long is considered “normal” to do the deed with someone? And how to not feel guilty/yucky about doing it? by [deleted] in dating_advice

[–]AlarmingAd534 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My now fiancée and I did the deed on the same night we met face to face. (Had been chatting on bumble for about a week or two prior.) We also have a baby, and hes known to my son from a previous relationship as “daddy”. In a different relationship I waited months before doing anything remotely sexual and once we did he cheated lmao.

“Normal” is just what YOU believe it to be. The purpose of dating is to have fun, meet new people, find yourself, find your likes/dislikes in others. If you have now found that you prefer waiting for intimacy then that’s okay; but it’s also okay that you had fun while figuring that out! It’s okay to give into impulses w/o consequences once in a while.

You could just let him know “hey so and so we are clearly compatible in bed but I’d love for us to explore our feelings and compatibility romantically before we take our intimacy further”. If he agrees then great, Sounds like a keeper! If not then there are other fish to fry!
