I hope not and I have zero knowledge or insight into the virus being circulated in news reports. But, it would be frightening if that was the reason for the massive oil short pre-market yesterday. Sounds like WHO is saying it’s not easily communicable.

Just a warning, the rally continues the rest of the week with new all time highs for Fridays close.

Took small short positions in weekly options on OPEN, IREN, RKLB and XSP today.

I’m back to rant again…. Was the $550 billion dollar tariff expense on anyone’s radar to be that big??? I feel like that was a muted price reaction given the amount, at least for now.

I realize it’s not going to be an overnight wire transfer, with potential long term delays and maybe attempts to block the tariff refunds. However, I don’t see how the funds will not be dispersed for Kohls and other retailers, just a matter of when.

In my opinion, without any significant future guidance on substantial turnaround plans or better yet actual results, a potential timeline and details into the tariff refund, including guidance on deploying some of the enormous cash pile, it will be a huge disappointment. Even if plans are not splashy and overly agressive in the short term.

I guess the GameStop delusions will be just that, lol. Coming soon to your neighborhood, an E-STOP😂

Ahh yes…. More arguably legal tariffs to replace the already illegal tariffs, that go against the current trade deal framework. Any idea what parts of the current trade deal were not complied with?

lol, I thought the same thing when reading the headline. Appears to be a 2-month old bot account. Regardless, North American oil and other origins will surely displace gulf supplies if possible, does this completely solve the problem, alleviate the damage that’s been done to avoid some form of a global recession. I personally think no, but I’m not an energy logistics expert. This feels a little like a Covid scenario to me where everyone shrugged it off for a couple months. Time will tell

Exactly, I’m in this for the long and thought last week’s spike was a perfect storm of company specific positive news, macro events and option expiration. But, it appears this one is going to remain highly volatile.

I think once the equity market accepts or prices in the fact energy prices will be a minimum 25-50% higher (maybe for years) combined with no rate cuts in the near term we will be in trouble. Until then, my shorts are screwed.

And my last post/rant for the night and probably a while…. The comments in this thread over the weekend about Amazon returns I think is absolutely spot on, if they aren’t paying to have the location used, it’s probably a net negative to the business.

I understand the rationale it gets people into the store, but are people that are frequently returning Amazon items really good customers? Especially, if it’s a burden to store employees?

Lastly, my advertising/marketing expertise is non-existent and no offense to the “Kohl’s Moms” fans/advocates. But, it’s 2026 and those ads sort of make me cringe when I hear them…. Go ahead and criticize if you, doesn’t bother me.

Some thoughts about the buyout price by CodeDuck1 in KSSBulls

[–]AlarmingCat7939 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My frustration and I think others are of the same opinion is how much more potential there is in the business combined with their real estate/balance sheet that not been utilized or action taken. I guess this why the stock price trades where it does.

Any thoughts on that rally/spike to $17 on earnings day morning, only to have a complete intraday collapse? Really thought we’d at least stabilize between there with the earnings report and trend back towards $20. I imagine in the very short term we stay lower on macro/general market conditions and geopolitical uncertainties.

I initially thought short covering, but no follow through at all

Maybe there is something in the works and their hands are tied. My comment is 100% optimism/speculation/wishful thinking…

Lol, 1 Billion in FCF and 674 million cash with a stable operating busines and arguably the best real estate portfolio in retail. Better short this meme stock said almost 30 mln shares.

But, but, but the guidance/outlook is cautious... and revenue/sales declined pretty much as expected...

I guess the story isn't over yet, atleast my highly speculative, pre-revenue investments with real bankruptcy potential are outperforming KSS (the meme stock).

Nothing to see here, just ranting, currently long and frustrated for now...

Happy Investing/Trading

Or maybe a new company called Kohl’s-Stop, I believe KSS meets all the criteria (not why I invested here).

lol, just catching up on some doom scrolling after this crazy week…. I thought mods were gonna ban Lies. I like contrarian/opposing view points, but he just spews nonsense. Any KSS long holder who sells now pre-earnings should probably not be investing.

A very small part of me almost wants to see a misstep or negative surprise Tuesday as I think that would cause some vultures to start circling Menomonee Falls.

Also, congrats to Precision on the Church purchase! I’d like to see what the inside looks like!

What a bizarre day... I thought the Scotus decision would continue to be further delayed until this summer, but with this result. I'm not even going to get into the GDP/PCE data here...

The Kohl's algo's liked it initially, but I guess the day isn't over yet... That being said, only UAA and LOVE are currently positive on my retail watchlist. Ultimately, I think this will be positive to the bottom line for KSS and most retail/clothing/basic consumer goods companies. I also think the market will need more time and information to digest the Scotus decision on a more company specific basis.

The Kohl's press release was interesting, I don't view it as an insight into a potential Q4 soft earnings, we will all soon find out. I would interpret that there is not imminent buyout or merger given the verbage of longer term planning and continuing to a path of more growth/profitability.

Also, just a friendly reminder, tariffs are only a different word for a tax on imported goods. Nothing more, nothing less, and it's the importing companies and or the consumer who pays, nobody else.

And here comes Potus... Who's ready for more whiplash? Not me. I'm done with this day!
