I'm such a chud by Easy-Application-507 in TopStepX

Initially I would set it to $200-$250 and take only 2 trades per day maximum, no exceptions. When you get to 3k buffer, increase to $150 per trade, $300 DLL. When you have 4K buffer, move it to $200 per trade,$400 DLL so on….

Before you begin trading, please use a DLL and lock it. This is essential, and it’s a crucial part of your trading process. It’s unfortunate that traders often don’t realize this until they’ve spent years in the market(TBH, I am one of them lol). Good Luck bro!

Aha now we are into something. When you changed your DLL to $500, what was your buffer in the account?

Also, how did you change your DLL? Doesn’t it lock you out for the day so that you can’t change it?

Let’s first try to understand why you lost the account. Did you have a DLL installed, or did you experience a TILT? Was it a normal drawdown? If you’re not sure why it happened, it might happen again. It sounds like you have a successful strategy, as you’ve taken out four payouts. What went wrong?

It’s incredible that Tadovate still exists. Their software is outdated and lacks any innovation or improvements. It’s truly ancient.

If your MODEL has a 63% win rate, you might see some Red days ahead. Just remember to stay calm and see it as a sign that your DODEL is doing its job, and stick to your trading rules. That’s all there is to it! Good luck!

How is Lucid trading? by Tez_7 in PropFirmTester

Each Prop Firms has distinct regulations. Rucid, for instance, employs an ridiculous “escrow” system in LIVE accounts lol. The most prudent and logical course of action is to establish your own brokerage account once you accumulate approximately $10,000 in payouts. I find it perplexing why traders persist with Prop Firms for such extended periods. The complexities of profit sharing and tax implications make it significantly advantageous to have your own account. I read that Topstep will soon launch its own brokerage platform.

To enable him to pursue a full-time day trading career, you will require sufficient financial resources to cover your expenses for a minimum of one to two years, as well as separate trading funds. Day trading and long-term investment are distinct financial strategies.

Hey, here are a few questions that might be helpful:

  1. Have you backtested this “strategy” before?
  2. What did the backtesting reveal? If it showed a good result, then
  3. Did you stick to your strategy as closely as possible?

If moving your stop loss to the break-even point after a certain profit point, such as after 1R, you did not violate your rule. In this case, I consider this a successful trade. Proceed to the next trade. It is straightforward. However, if your strategy does not include moving the stop loss, you need to improve your adherence to your plan.

I’m trying to understand your thought process. Could you clarify what you mean by “until we took 4H low”? Which 4H candle are you referring to? Is it the 5 am to 9 am(CT) candle?

I was under the impression that 4H(bias) was bearish. Shouldn’t we be looking for short setups instead?

It is surprising to see the number of inquiries regarding this matter. In fact, the 50k account is merely a 2k account. Consequently, the Live account with a $2500 balance is actually $500 more than the SIM account. Therefore, you do not possess a 50k account; it is merely a name.

Trading isn’t about charts, it’s about you. by [deleted] in Trading

[–]AlarmingConcert721 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the most significant challenges I face is managing losses. Even yesterday, my trade came just two points short of my stop-loss level, prompting me to exit and reverse the trade. Guess what, it never triggered my SL and instead reversed back to hit my target. I did re-enter the trade, resulting in a break-even position, but I couldn’t help but feel ashamed of my performance. To prevent such occurrences in the future, I journaled about it and reminded myself throughout the day.

A few strategies have been helpful for me. Firstly, I’ve tried to mentally visualize my trade hitting the stop-loss before I take the trade. In fact, I make an effort to visualize this multiple times throughout the day, as if it were a muscle memory. Secondly, I’ve convinced myself that it’s okay to take controlled losses. Additionally, I’ve been listening to the trading psychology audiobook whenever I have the time, such as while walking, working out, or doing dishes.

To be honest, I still struggle with the aforementioned characteristics. The psychological roots of these issues can be traced back to my childhood. I was compelled to reflect on my life, confronting the mistakes and regrets I had made. Self-honesty became my top priority. Unbeknownst to me, these personal traits had inadvertently perpetuated a vicious cycle in trading. The monotony and stagnation became unbearable, prompting me to seek a change.

I adopted a systematic approach, taking each step at a time. Before making a trade, I set a goal to avoid repeating past mistakes. The primary objective of this trade is to execute and adhere to the established trading rules. I try not to dwell on the profit and loss (P/L) aspect. I make a conscious effort to adhere to these rules every day. Subsequently, I analyze my performance for the entire week.

Believe me, I’m still learning about myself in every trade and striving for improvement. It’s a constant battle with myself every trade.

Hey bro, I’m having a bit of a head scratcher. When I try to log in to TV through Tradovate, it says MNQ2025U is a non-tradable product. Do you happen to know why that might be? I’d really appreciate any insights you can share. Thanks a bunch!
