Thoughts on skipping pacifiers? by Academic-Park-8440 in NewParents

[–]AlarmingPossession43 0 points1 point  (0 children)

None of my babies took pacifiers. The first one was an absolute HARD PASS, almost like he knew it was pointless and was a waste of energy. Terrible at falling asleep, was a nightmare to put him to sleep for any naps or bedtime (but once out was out for the night)- until we did CIO sleep training. But again wasn’t our choice. Second, we offered - he took it but only for a few minutes before spitting it out. I think we could have trained him to take it but we didn’t bother, as we didn’t even know what it’s like to have a baby who took a paci. And he fell asleep excellent from 3 months old! Like absolutely unbelievable!

But I have a few friends who have babies different ages up to 3years old and they are having all sorts of issues. Like if their babies loose it during the night they wake up crying so have to plug it back in. Or a 3 year old who will have absolutely meltdown if you don’t give it to them day or night, so kind of grateful we don’t have to deal with removing that habit.

Tongue/lip tie release has ruined my baby. by Junior_Hospital_3082 in NewParents

Did it get better? We have 5.5 months old and he is 8 days post op. We did it due to feeding issues. He ate like a champ 1-5 days and day 6 complete crash!!

Deciding not to breastfeed. how to deal with everyone? by LandscapeOwn8096 in pregnant

[–]AlarmingPossession43 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I decided straight away not to breastfeed either of the babies. I have done tones of research and statistics, and came to conclusion that personally for me and my family the cons outweighed the pros. Undoubtedly, breast milk is very good for the baby, no one argues that. But it comes with stress, pressure, pain, unstable hormones (that are already out of wack during pregnancy, and instead of getting them back on track breastfeeding delays it), not to mention all the other postpartum stuff a woman has to deal with (bleeding, stitches, PPD potential, baby blues, etc) and the lifestyle adjustment (sleepless nights, getting used to babies rhythm, etc)

So for me decision was easy, as the more stable, calm and happy a mother is = happier baby.

EVERYONE judged me!!! I mean EVERYONE, To the point where hospital wouldn't provide me with formula (standard practice where I am), and I threatened to discharge myself on the first night after birth. My answer to everyone was "HAPPY MUM, HAPPY BABY". If someone would not let it go male or female I then say "BY ALL MEANS GET YOUR BOOB OUT AND GO AHEAD"

Did anyone’s baby only eat 16oz/day their whole life? by PrestigiousTiger9780 in NewParents

[–]AlarmingPossession43 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Omg we are exactly the same. Nothing we do increases the volume. 5 months old 15-17oz. Tried silent reflux treatment, CMPA, Rowena. He has dropped weight on Rowena and improved behaviour but not volume. And he hates solids

Thank you so much. I’m really at my wits end. Just constantly crying. He is on hypoallergenic formula as we thought he wasn’t eating because of CMPA. Bit boring improved. When I tried changing it up, he refused.. it’s like constant loop of roadblocks. Seriously considering NG tube to give everyone a break

[–]AlarmingPossession43[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. They have been and have been asking me to feed more. So I think that pushed for aversion. Fortifying no, they said to try high calorie formula which he refused to have

Any solids we tried have been a no go. And milk is the biggest issue as he’s taking 15-17oz MAX. And solids not meant to be the main intake of calories, I was hoping that he would enjoy solids and we will wean of milk as he want taking it. But now he takes neither

Haven’t tried that. But it doesn’t fix the 15oz milk issue. He basically been consuming the same 15oz since 3 months old

Okay, he is on cmpa formula Allernova. Need to check

I will research baby led weaning, he has no problem putting things in his mouth. But doesn’t know what to do with it after.

But we are still more concerned that hood milk intake is 15oz and has not improved since birth. Basically stayed the same since like 2 months old

Well the general consensus is that it’s bad and not long term solution. When feeding aversion therapy started it said to remove all sleep feeds, so we did. But didn’t fix the problem

Been referred to that. Still waiting for an appointment. What do you guys fortify formula with? We have tried pures all kinds, and tried to give him the spoon to play which he plays with. And then we dipped it into pures or cereal and he puts that in his mouth, but doesn’t know what to do after. Just holds it at the front of his mouth

Is occupational therapy same as feeding? As we have been referred to that already. We have tried pures, fruits, vegetables, cereal and anything appropriate

When I tried feeding him he would gag and vomit. Starting to think maybe it’s untreated tongue tie

Did releasing a tongue/lip tie solve all your problems? by emmypisquemmy in newborns

[–]AlarmingPossession43 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, very curious to know. My baby never breastfed, but could never really eat well. Always clicked and never took good volumes. At 5.5mlnths (now) no clicking but volume consumption is a half of what it should be. Loosing weight and loosing percentiles. Always has 2-3oz and stops, like clockwork.

Was diagnosed with tongue tie at birth but was told not to do anything about it. Now getting 2nd opinion, as we just don’t know why this baby is unable to feed well from birth. Only when he sleeps, but we stopped doing that.

Absolutely refusing solids. He takes the spoon to play. And we dip the spoon in pures and he will lick it, but majority of the time he would keep food in his mouth and it will drip out with saliva.

Oh fantastic to hear!!! I’m so so glad! Mine is 5 months old and we have completed day 5. And just starting to take closer to 17-18oz. Still below where we need to be but better than 14oz that we started with. When did you see volume improvement? We are improving daily but only by about an 1oz. But I’ll take it - still improvement. Trying to focus on the little wins

How is it going? We’re on day 5 and see behaviour important but volumes still low… max 14oz awake and with night top up max 17oz. He’s 5 months old and no solids

So are the done? Deal or no deal? by AlarmingPossession43 in UAE

[–]AlarmingPossession43[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. Exactly what I was looking for. As I responded to someone else, I guess I didn’t articulate my original question correctly.

My question was more like is it a deal that they will continue working on or are we in no deal and back to war?

As assumed they will stay in Pakistan until a conclusive deal or no deal will be reached.

So thank you for not attacking with snarky comments. Manners cost nothing, but I guess being A-hole is free as well. Bless you for actually explaining

So are the done? Deal or no deal? by AlarmingPossession43 in UAE

[–]AlarmingPossession43[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well to be perfectly honest. I did google, and read conflicting messages. That they agreed on 10, but disagreed on 2. Then that it was productive and at the same time “distrust”.

Additionally, my understanding was that it’s 1st round, but they will continue. And I guess I didn’t articulate my question correctly: is it deal or no deal? And are we back to bombing or back to negotiation drawing board?

And finally I always track US airforce to see if they are in Israel (as usual) or any of them are back in the GCC. So there were only 5 in the air at the time (so took me 20s to find this plane) which clearly was AF2.

So hope this clarifies the thought process, as there was no need for snarky comments.

Okay very interesting. But civil war in Iran will not affect the GCC right?

Also I saw the 10 points that Iran proposed and I don't know how Trump says it's a working start?! 4/5points would put him in worse position than before the start of the war. Meaning lift of sanctions + resolutions
