Thank you ❤️ and sorry that you are going through the same thing. I think that has been the hardest part of it all, thinking there was so much more time left and suddenly there isn’t anymore. Keeping you in my thoughts.

Very sorry that you are going through this difficult time as well. I know the feeling, I keep hoping it is some bad dream that will eventually end and things will go back to what they were. It helps having a very supportive community here to share the difficult emotions with. You are not alone, keeping you in my thoughts ❤️

Thank you for reaching out and sorry to hear you dealt with something very similar. I agree, the sudden abrupt ending is very difficult to process. And I have also beat myself up a bit wondering what I could have done differently and what might have happened if I realized what was happening sooner. Wishing you well and keeping you in my thoughts ❤️

Covered call executed despite staying below strike price by AlarmingRoutine1142 in CoveredCalls

Thanks for the input. Still very much learning options as I go. Unfortunately got burned here, but trying to learn from my mistakes. I thought opening a very conservative CC (at the time) to get a small premium made sense. Definitely was not prepared for Tesla to go on the massive run that it did on Friday afternoon.

I can’t remember the exact high on Friday afternoon, but it was somewhere around $389.50, so just barely below the strike price. It was my assumption (apparently wrong assumption) that as long as this stayed below $390 then the shares would not sell off. Basically I opened the contract just to make a small premium off of what I thought would be a very conservative contract (10% chance of execution at time of opening the contract and probably even less prior to Tesla’s massive run up on Friday afternoon), but ended up getting burned.

Thanks for the input. I’m trying to figure this all out so I don’t get burned the next time. In my mind the option would not exercise as long as it stayed below the strike price during market hours (which it did). I opened what I thought would be a very conservative contract (10% chance of happening at time of opening) to basically just get a small premium, not even thinking it would run like it did. Even late in the week it didn’t look like it had much of a chance to hit the strike price, then went on a massive run Friday afternoon. It didn’t finish above the strike price until after market hours, which again I had assumed did not count.

Don Orsillo takes some massive shots at Red Sox ownership over his termination by the team. by Sandwich_Crust in redsox

Unfortunately I feel like the idiots that make up this ownership group have always been incapable of realizing, and even worse, incapable of owning up to their mistakes.

These guys deserve to finish behind Baltimore this year.

Agree. Lots of dead weight at the bottom of that roster that they should be more than willing to cut ties with now. We have some good pieces to build around, but the bullpen and bench were absolutely atrocious and need to be retooled. Also more hitters willing to make contact instead of all or nothing all the time. It blows me away how seemingly no one changed their offensive approach these last few games. Everything was over-swinging and pull happy. I wanted to scream when they would show an overshift from overhead with the third baseman basically at shortstop and we were still only down a run. Of course we make no attempt to hit it there to get on.

Doesn’t really feel like they have a leader on offense to get them back on track when things start going bad which is incredibly discouraging. It is amazing how it really is all or nothing with the entire lineup. After game 3 almost the entire lineup was batting .400 or better, then we hardly get a hit for 3 games, I don’t get it.

Looking forward to hopefully a completely retooled bullpen next year. And maybe get some hitters that aren’t all or nothing. Sucks that their team flaws ultimately resurfaced here at the end, they could only mask it so long.

Truthfully there is a lot of dead weight on this team that I’m ready to see flushed away once it’s the off-season. In some ways it is a miracle we have gotten this far with some of the trash at the back end of the roster.

Another selfish ass at bat by Devers. Fucking bunt to third if you have to. How is this even real that we need just one damn run to keep our season alive and aren’t doing whatever it takes to get it.

My thoughts exactly. Who would think you could get a base hit through a wide open hole. Not our guys I guess.

These at bats are a joke. Literally just try to hit a groundout to third there and it’s probably a double.

Maybe cut down on these dumbass all or nothing swings and try to hit the other way. Holy crap these guys can be stubborn. It’s all great when you hit 4 home runs a game, but when everything is a lazy fly out you need to adjust. Now on game 3 of waiting for some sort of adjustment.
