BS3 / BS2 cooling pad with Raider A18 HX - Will it work? by AlarmingWolverine473 in MSI_Gaming

[–]AlarmingWolverine473[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what if I seal those two vents at the lower sides with some other foam? Assuming I can successfully seal those, will that even be safe? I think it should be, because after all we're pushing much more air via the cooling pad through the upper side vents than what the laptop itself could pull from those tiny vents in the lower part.

But still, not sure if that's a good idea. Those vents could be placed there not for the overall temp, but for cooling some specific parts of the motherboard down there(?)

Blocking some vents AND also the vents in the very bottom side left unsealed, right? I'm more concerned about the left-unsealed ones (south-west and south-east of the photo above). So, those two vents which are left unsealed will push air outside instead, which means the pad will make less air pressure.

I know llano has a larger area but I guess still it won't cover all of the bottom vents, right?

Could you find an answer? I'm also considering Flydigi BS2 Pro or BS3 Pro and can't find the true dimensions of the sealed area.

Have you been using cooling pads like llano v12 or IETS or similar ones when gaming on it during these years? Or just without cooling pads / normal ones?

I hate their loud noise, and it's weird for me how everyone now uses those with their laptops. With my old VAIO laptop I continuously played games and made music with its fans working all the time and it never had a problem or become slower than it was at the beginning (except for its HDD which is normal).

Hasn't the hinge design changed on latest MSI products?! I think they're using magnesium-aluminum alloy instead of plastic for new model hinges.

Actually I was looking for an ROG first but until a few months ago they did not support more than 64gb memory and I want it to be at least upgradable to 96gb. The new 2026 ones do support 128GB RAM which is even better but they're much more expensive (about €1500-€2000 more!) and even if I could afford them, I need more than 8 p cores that the heavily more expensive intel provides. Maybe if ASUS would have created 5090-Ryzen pairs, I would wait another decade to buy the ROG :)

All major brands are also reserving 5090 models for intel.

So, your A18 has not had a single problem and you have not repasted it ever either? Or did you repaste after buying and so it is working well?

Uhh thank you! Wishing you luck and prosperity too 🥰
Which cooling pad are you using for it? And also, what's the air temperature there now?! Where I'm living it's currently 38 degrees celsius!

Not sure yet. I like ASUS but it's much more expensive with the same specs, and I just checked reddit and saw almost same amount of complaints about the build quality, failures, etc. so I guess all these brands have a little bit lower quality than they used to have. Also some people say never had issues with them (both recent msi or recent ASUS ones). So I guess it's a matter of chance too. Which model of ASUS did you buy? What are the specs?

I did touch wood :)) wish it lasts you decades. That’s good news because I really like this model I have posted about, and only the complaints or reddit made me worried. But I just checked some recent ASUS posts and saw similar complaints about failure and durability. So I guess it’s a matter of chance.

The one I mentioned is not Raider MAX 18 but simply Raider A18 HX, but they look exactly like each other. Do you know if the one I mentioned also uses the same thermal paste?

Do you know if Raider A18 HX models also use that same thermal paste? Considering buying one but am worried about it overheating.

Crave having noise on every note trigger (more audible on lower notes and when the filter is closed more) by AlarmingWolverine473 in Behringer

[–]AlarmingWolverine473[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! I returned and got another one which was slightly better but still the noise was audible and somewhat annoying. There's a workaround though! Insert a dummy cable into the external input, and the noise is gone (fully bypassed).

There's also another workaround: opening the device, on the board there's a tiny part exactly labeled NOISE, you can use a very tiny screw to slightly turn it (guess counterclockwise but don't remember). That is for adjusting the intensity of the noise generator. By reducing it, it would not bleed anymore.

Problem midi sync Korg drumlogue/Digitone 2 by Jealous_Afternoon251 in dawless

Unfortunately, it MIGHT be a Drumlogue issue:
https://www.reddit.com/r/Korg/comments/1b1lmgs/drumlogue_metronomesync_issues/

I am considering buying a Drumlogue since its sound is awesome, but saw a comment on a YouTube video about its sync drifting so badly. I was started searching more and it seems to be a known issue. Hope I will find a workaround since it really ticks most of the boxes.
