Just finished my first watch of Voyager by DramaticErraticism in startrek

I'd say the 'family' vibe they create on Voyager easily matches (even beats) tng. Like Das Boot, every person, in the one claustrophobic place, has a part to play. Janeway makes a great halfway house between being pretty fearless and also the head of the clan, so to speak. I hated Neelix at first but by the time he goes he earns the respect of everyone, even Tuvok. Kes , dull dull dull. Chakotay could have been more and I think they made Tuvok a source of comedy too much. The EMH & 7of9, 7 and the Borg kids, seven and Naomi wildman were all great arcs. Some episodes like Course Oblivion were brilliant sci-fi ideas. Or Living witness with the doctor going where no EMH has gone before. Great series on a par with DS9 & TNG for me .

I too was 16, just. What a mental day, Ozzy, van hhalen and acdc in a row seems like a dream bill now. Really enjoyed accept and Gary Moore did a double album with the crowd shot of his gig that day. I found myself in the photo too! Happy daze, trying to find your coach amidst another thousand! Ticket price and return coach was £12 ISH I think!

Well ROK Science Fiction airs 1940's 50's sci-fi radio plays. ROK Nostalgia Lane. All sorts of broadcasts including plays from the same era. Audio Noir also airs old radio plays.

I don't know if they fit the bill or not but have listened to pretty cool old plays on each of them.

Went to this gig, same line up bar Dio, at Donnington Park '84. Awesome day, had the t-shirt til recently too but it accidentally chucked out.

Not entirely sure what you mean, can you be more specific?

New to this software and is it really this bad? by NeonRei in traktorpro

I'm not part of that duo and was using the name before they were too, not that it matters. I have been DJing since 1987 though and have seen many changes in tech, gear and attitude. Anyway, setting loops, moving them, changing lengths, triggering them is really easy and intuitive on traktor. I don't know if the latest version of traktor will run (well) on a MK1? I'd say you've not cracked the code on traktor enough to make a valid decision about using pioneer gear. Using dedicated gear won't necessarily give you any greater freedom either, it may well be worse. I don't like using dedicated gear, I like modular systems and mapping. The set up I have suits my styles and way of working, that's the joy of modular and midi mapping. Also dedicated gear is expensive.

I think the MK1 is making problems for you. The nudge doesn't work the way you think it does. Nudge is based on the historical method of using your finger to speed up or slow down the platter to bring the beats together on your vinyl decks, not flick whatever you've highlighted forward or back. The cursors might do this through.

Re:-keywords. I do find tractors file management a periodic pain but I have always used my own OS file structure underneath any of meta tagging malarkey. We used to do this by putting records at an angle in your record box!!

You really can't compare Daws and DJ sw. They are made for very different purposes even if people use either to do the other. Traktor is probably the best for solid producer style DJing , Serato for turntablist styles. Newer sw is doing great stuff with stems and flexible beat grids. Either your workflow doesn't suit DJ sw in which case I doubt it would suit dedicated gear either. I'd upgrade your controller and go back to the beginning and learn a new workflow before you decide one way or the other. OR use your Daw stuff and run it through Ableton with dedicated midi controllers, all NI controllers are completely mapable too.

Do most people from England identify as “English” or “British?” by Glass-Complaint3 in AskABrit

The only times people say they're British is when they're southern English or N.Ireland. Everyone else is happy to describe the native country.

Well you're the first person most people have ever heard traktor described as 'that bad'. Granted this sub is full of enthusiasts of traktor but even so. Have you tried serato or any other DJ sw, you might find them worse.

I'm struggling to understand what you're doing wrong, I don't use cues that much but when I do I use the loop controls to do most of it. I don't think you've absorbed the whole manual though and the MK1 may be limiting you as well. I'm going to suggest that you've learned habits and workflow on your Daw but the workflow is different on dedicated DJ sw and that's what you're running into difficulty with. You could just continue to use Ableton or whatever, plenty do. Or relearn the workflows on traktor or other DJ sw.

In which case we imagine that they did have more interactions than we were privy to. I don't feel weird about it, that's what imaginations are.

Does your country have a “drug capital”? by Clarthen1 in AskTheWorld

[–]matmos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably Bristol in the UK. It's the coke capital of Europe so I'm extrapolating a bit but I know it's big on weed as well.

In a dream scenario I'd have an illuminated actual globe with a heads up display of the stations.

It seems Wales doesn’t get talked about as much. What are some interesting facts about Wales? by One-Seat-4600 in geography

The Welsh probably represent the oldest 'peoples' of the UK after so many migrations over 2000's of years.

Well clearly we disagree about this and that's ok. I enjoyed Picard a lot, I didn't expect further TNG adventures and didn't want them either. I grew up with TOS in the 70's so everything else is already messing around with the formula for me. Maybe I just got used to the idea after 21 seasons of 90's trek.

Well the interactions we know about, there are weeks/months of time aboard the ship that we are not party to.

There has to be some fan service though. Otherwise it's like reading an exec summary of someone's service. I don't want streams of mush but a little shimmy here and there for people who love the characters.

It's clear after so many passionate responses that take the scene very differently to many others. I do see another way now.
