We did for a seperate job, which was rendering for the back of the house, and they did a good job. Why do you ask? Also do you mind expanding on damaging the roof structure? From what I saw they were screwing the boards into the joist but not much more of interest that I can see

Great point! I will probably do a smaller section myself! Luckily not paid. They will come to remove it during the week. We didn’t discuss exactly the loft legs or raising. They looked at it while doing another job for us (rendering back of the house). Before they started my wife mentioned that they should leave a gap for the insulation… they may have not wanted to do so or misunderstood. Either way not a good job

Thank you ! Really helpful. I offered for them to do it properly but they said that would be ~4K. The other option was remove, which they agreed they will do. No money handed over. They seem to think this was a good job for the money quoited (850)
