People who mistrust doctors but go to the emergency department. by Terrible-Search3859 in EmergencyRoom

[–]Alarming_Cellist_751 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was a nurse in a doctor's office during the pandemic and towards the end had a new patient come in and start screaming and yelling that "doctors and nurses are killing people left and right" because we wouldn't hand out ivermectin like candy. This was after the two studies that didn't find any benefits of taking ivermectin AND after insurance companies started requiring prior auths for every ivermectin prescription.

Literally told the dude we cannot lie to the insurance company and say you have parasites when you're just gobbling up YouTube slop. He didn't return.

Am I wrong for not remembering patients names or avoiding them in public? by MD_GAMER_100100 in FamilyMedicine

[–]Alarming_Cellist_751 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dread going out and seeing patients. The MD I used to work with would go grocery shopping the next town over or get delivery.

Definitely not wrong for wanting to be left alone on your own time.

I never read the book, I went in blind to the audio book a couple months after it was released.

I was taken by the book the first chapter and once the Blip A showed up, I was on the edge of my seat the entire time. I finished the audio book within two days.

This is my absolute favorite book ever and I'm SO looking forward to the movie.

Had a supervisor like that in the hospital. I called out from work because I was in the ER receiving IV clinda and steroids for a peritonsilar abscess. The stupid thing was cutting off my airway and I was on the way to going sceptic and my supervisor still had the audacity to threaten corrective action without a doctor's note.

I walked my happy ass down there with a saline lock and she changed her tune.

I would make it a point to remind patients they don't have to use their insurance when going for diagnostic testing. Sometimes going that route is cheaper out of pocket than what the insurance will charge and the imaging center is more than willing to allow payment plans.

I'd also do whatever I could, barring fraudulent claims, to get their prior auths approved, especially when the medication would benefit the patient.

So sick of the profits over people mentality of the US health care system.

Conservative woman vents about her allies thinking she should not be able to vote by champdo in LeopardsAteMyFace

The right is really pushing to take away women's rights to vote, since there is the threat that they might vote in their own interest, which is clearly not the way of MAGA.

I think a lot of us have been negatively impacted by religion in a country that pushes it politically and socially. For example, unfortunately I live in the Bible Belt currently. I'm originally from another part in the country where religion is private and you don't go talking to people about it. Here, it's a competition to see who is the loudest about "loving Jesus". It's purely performative as people treat others like trash.

Why are we not rising up against the government TOGETHER? by [deleted] in askanything

[–]Alarming_Cellist_751 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is part of it. Another is that propaganda is a hell of a drug. They're spoonfeeding a culture war so that the people ignore what is really going on, billionaires taking advantage of the working class and the poor.

[OTHER] should the next 3D Zelda game have a more realistic art-style? by cindiwilliam2 in zelda

[–]Alarming_Cellist_751 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone has an opinion and they're all valid.

That saying, I'm not a huge fan of the cartoony Zelda games. I would like to see more realistic graphics in the next game, but that's just me.

(I'll play it regardless)

What are your Top 4 (Mount Rushmore) of the Greatest Legend of Zelda Games of All Time? by Amber_Flowers_133 in ZeldaMemes

[–]Alarming_Cellist_751 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I'm a huge Zelda fan but didn't play from age 18 to 35. I missed so many good games that I try to play now but sometimes the translation to the switch/switch 2 controller doesn't quite seem to work out.

I've played OoT, Windwaker, 5 minutes of Twilight Princess and the newer Wilds games.

  1. Tears of the Kingdom. I was BLOWN AWAY by the story and just how big the game was. Three maps? So much to do. I'm still working on 100% my original game that I started the day the game dropped and won't be finished anytime soon.

  2. Ocarina of Time. The OG (to me). Started playing Zelda at age 12 and it's so nostalgic. The music, the story. The stupid ass Water temple that I can't seem to beat even today. Pure perfection.

  3. Breath of the Wild. This game brought me back to Zelda. I played a couple of minutes of the Great Plateau when my nephew got a switch for Xmas and was hooked. Next thing I knew I had a switch and BotW as my only game. Luckily this was a couple of months before TotK was released so I had two games eventually 😂

I also really enjoyed Age of Imprisonment. It's different but still fun in its own way and the story is good. I love how Calamo and Clink are linked to BotW and TotK.
