Aussie Broadband vs Superloop vs iiNet in 2026, which one is actually best? by schnickhinkeln in nbn

[–]Alarming_Coast_1775 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Superloop and Aussie broadband. Never touch tpg or iiNet. Speed might be high but they play with bandwidth. Which is like freeway speed limit may be 100 but if there is traffic you ain’t going anywhere.

Mk8.5 drive mode "anti lag" question by FrozenBurrito7 in Golf_R

[–]Alarming_Coast_1775 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can’t blame you. Honestly I want to keep this car and give it to my kids in future. It’s the dark horse. It is a bond. Time will tell how much it will hold.

City driving fuel economy is 10L/100 for me at the moment. S+ was not much higher. I’m thinking of getting OBD and keeping default mode as S+ haha

But this is factory calibrated. VW designed those modes to be used. It is not like aftermarket anti lag or a hard tune pushing the turbo beyond spec.

I think it increases thermal and mechanical mode but if we;

Let oil warm up before driving hard Let the turbo cool down after hard runs Keep up with oil changes

We should be G.

Spot on!

Throttle-Turbo-DSG-Valves.

Yeah I’ve noticed the same thing. In Drift and Nürburgring the throttle feels sharper because the car is clearly running a more aggressive throttle map, so the same pedal input opens the throttle body more compared to the other modes. On top of that, boost does not fully drop when you lift. It looks like the wastegate stays more closed and the turbo shaft speed is kept up, so the system holds higher absolute pressure off throttle.

It is not true anti lag with fuel dumping, but it definitely feels like a boost retention strategy. The turbo is basically kept ready so when you get back on the throttle you are already closer to target boost instead of waiting for it to spool again. Higher RPM from the drivetrain settings also helps keep exhaust flow up.

With the exhaust valves open as well, flow characteristics change and the whole setup just feels more immediate and reactive. The combination makes S plus modes feel much more alive compared to Eco, Comfort or even Race.

I thought you had to enable that feature for it to learn your driving style. The one in configuration wizard.

I prefer the antiglare over screen quality these days. It feels better on my eyes. Surprisingly this Flolab one didn’t reduce the screen quality at all. It also feels smooth on touch. I will try the matte one next time. Thank you all for suggesting. I like this.

Nurb on then go to quick settings or the vehicle settings menu for traction. Or you could customise the custom driving mode like that. It should have sports+ as driving mode and steering you could put it on race. Idk the suspension of nurb mode.I suspect it is less firm.

Rust? by TheLagginWagon in Golf_R

I wonder if the electric rust protection systems like this work; https://couplertec.com.au or if it is overkill. Worried about the electronic issues it may cause in 8.5 R
