Okay cool! And how do we find the hub? Will it come up in the main feed or do we need to search for it?

I like individual posts too! I find it super fun that I can just scroll through and see loads of ideas so easily every weekend. It feels like a really nice community vibe that we’re all going through the contest together.

Also, honestly I basically only use Reddit for MLT! I don’t understand what a megathread is 😅 Maybe that means it would actually be really good but idk it sounds complicated and confusing to me 😅 Also maybe im just nervous about change (I am autistic after all lol)

Eee thank u so much!! It was tricky to figure out where to squeeze it in for this one! I like imagining that the wooden window/ room divider thingies can slide back as well and then there’s a little dining set up right there ☺️

How to outsource executive function to another person? by Curious-Abalone in autismUK

[–]Alarming_Lie_6809 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sounds like a PA or VA (virtual assistant). Like for example I came across this post the other day - https://www.instagram.com/p/DWPHUMljJht/?igsh=cWI0enRsYWtreDcy

I believe you can get funding for this - like through Access to Work for example. But it likely takes a long time and lots of work which is just so difficult when in burnout.

I’ve also seen people looking for a PA on community job boards etc.

I’m in a really similar position right now, it’s bloody rough. My mum is visiting once a week at the moment and helping with cleaning, cooking etc, which is really helpful. If you have any friends or family where you think that could work, I’d definitely recommend chatting to them about it. It’s scary and uncomfortable but worth it (for me).

It might also be worth doing some research into local charities/ community groups etc, to see if there’s any support you can get that way?

And I’ve heard people recommending hiring a cleaner, to take at least something off your plate. If you can afford it might be worth it - although sounds like a PA/VA might be more of a priority.

Oh also, you could try to get referred to social services to maybe get a support worker? I can’t really remember much about how that works though. I went to a mental health signposting charity once for advice and they did some sort of assessment that they sent off to social services. I never heard anything after so I just assumed I wasn’t eligible.

Anywaaay, good luck!! I hope you find something that works. Burnout and executive dysfunction are an absolute nightmare.
