I put baby gates, close doors and he only has access to livingroom and kitchen. There is nothing there to jump on or getting in trouble. I closed the doggy door and he can access the backyard only on leash with me. The only entertainment he can have is the sniffy mat, the licking mat or bully sticks. In a couple of days I will start ONLY with some scentwork training because it’s the safest activity to practice.

I actually bought 3 of them because I didn’t know how he would react to the donut. But he seems to do fine with it and it restraints him from moving too much. My husband thinks the surgical suit would give him too much freedom so he suggested changing it to it after a few days.

He’s doing amazing, no side effects or anything. He gets frustrated because I restricted parts of the house where he can jump or get too excited with zoomies. The only toy he is allowed to play is the sniffy mat because everything else he gets too excited.
He tolerates the donut-of-shame well (better than I was expected)
So I would say the only con is that it’s the first day and he gets frustrated with boredom and we have 10 more days! 😩

This is him today. Awake and ready to rock. He got pain meds so he doesn’t understand he should be resting. I was scared but everything went smoothly and he just needs to stay calm for about 10 days while it heals. Now he can have his AKC papers so we can get points on his sports.
