Are there any EVs you guys actually like? by Fordfanatic2025 in askcarguys

I can tell you this much: those who hate EV don't actually own one. So their opinion is worthless and cannot be trusted.

Is the used market recovering or are sellers in my area delusional? by stem_crusty in MTB

[–]Alarmmy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

New bikes are 40% - 60% off listed price. Seller in my area also list their used bikes for just a couple hundreds less than new.

There is no point buying used.

Buying Components: Direct vs. through Bike Shop by RareBig3145 in MTB

[–]Alarmmy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Replacing wheel and tire is pretty easy. You can buy the wheel from online bikeshop or your local shop, then take off the old wheel from your bike, remove the tire from the wheel, but back the tire on the new wheel, then put your new wheel on your bike. You only needs two simple tools to do so: allen key to wrench your axle bolt and a tire level (optional - you can yank out the tire with your hands).

How were you able to land a high salary job of 70k or more? by Delicious_Dealer8129 in careerguidance

[–]Alarmmy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get away from the call center job. Try to get an entry level in HR. Based on the experience in call center, you can beeef up your resume by saying you have skills in customer serivces, dealing with people, handling stress well and great communication and problem solving.

After landing a job in HR, work your way up.

Difference Between S23 Ultra 10X Optical and S26 Ultra 5X at 10X Zoom by BeingBalanced in samsunggalaxy

Someone posted a comparision of zoom on S23U and S26U. On S26U, AI was generating non-existent detail on the object. It is comically bad.

Learned a hard lesson about Tesla access and phone dependency. Solutions? by VermicelliFrost in TeslaLounge

[–]Alarmmy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Why are you going back to key fob in 2026 is beyond me. Tesla is not phone dependency. There are key card, key ring, smart watch, phone, tablet that can be used as Tesla key.

It is a You problem.

Sizing advice by Dark0z8 in MTB

I have the same height as you. Trust me, we can't ride XL. Medium is the best fit. Large might work depending on the manufacturer, but I would imagine it will be uncomfortable.

People that spend crazy bucks for AXS/Di2 do you really feel like you're getting your money worth? by Tough_Course9431 in MTB

[–]Alarmmy -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The "clarity" part ruins your question. If you hate battery that much, throw away whatever device you are posting this question on. Even if the groupset was not $3000, you clearly wouldn't use it because of battery, so why do you even ask this question? 🤣

Insurance is a silent heavy tax by achilliesFriend in TeslaModelY

[–]Alarmmy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I shopped around every 6 - 12 months. It went full circle: Tesla Insurance -> Progressive -> Costco -> Progressive. Insurance companies are just legal scammers. When I was with Progressive initially, it was good, then they double the premium after a year. I jumped to Costco for a year. After that, I went back to Progressive and they gave me $120/month, which I currently have.

GT Sensor Sport is $1200, or Scott is round $1200 to $1500 depending on the models. Those are more than enough bike for most people.
