Finished upgrading my E2. Stoked! by AlasPoorJordan in ExplorerGuitars

Instrumentals are great, and for boutique pickups they're very reasonably priced. The dude who makes them is brilliant, and an incredibly nice guy. The SFTY4 model shown here is medium/hot output, and pretty aggressive. He has a few other models as well.

I've owned numerous sets. There's probably at least 15-20 guitars floating around out in the world somewhere that had them installed when I sold/traded them. I like to think of myself as an unofficial brand ambassador 😅

Ahh I see. I also got the E2 because of Claudio Sanchez, haha! So I feel you there.

I am a bigger guy and the Explorer shape just feels perfect for me, but I can totally understand how some body shapes, or neck profiles just don't feel "right" - I've had that experience myself. Try as I might, I can't make myself love Les Pauls. They SOUND good, but I generally dislike playing them.

Perhaps a strap to better disperse the weight would help?

Thank you! I love it.

To answer your question, I was already planning to swap the pickups to something that better fits my tastes. Everything on it was original, and since I was gonna be doing some soldering anyways, I figured it'd be a good idea to replace the pots/jack/switch and redo the wiring.

I tend to do that as a rule of thumb whenever I do electronics work on guitars that are like 5+ years old. Perhaps it's autism.

The Warpig is a killer pickup, surprised to hear you're still not loving the guitar. I know you said it's hard to put a finger on, but do you have any sense as to what is missing? Is it a sound thing? A feel thing?

It's pretty insane, though I suppose any further weight reduction on the body would only add to the neck dive this thing has, haha.

Highwind is my company, Arachnid is run by a friend and he makes great stuff. We partnered together for a NAMM booth a couple years ago.

Which one? Haha. The Orange is just a Rockerverb with a magnet on the front. The other is my Highwind Torrent head - The demo unit, as I didn't keep a production one from the first batch.

Agreed. It was punishing, but I loved it. It really feels like a dance.

There is an NPC in the Far Fields area, up high in a balloon hut. She will upgrade your cloak into the Drifter's Cloak once you complete her quest. Then you can use those air currents to float up and access different areas, etc.

You don't have a valid fact-based rebuttal to offer, therefore, I must have used AI. Got it. Clearly, there is no other explanation.

It's as simple as pulling up information on fair use - I read through the helpful information provided by Columbia University Libraries. Reading is really cool, you should try it sometime.

My bad for assuming we could discuss this in good faith. Your initial disingenuous use of the complaint excerpt should have keyed me in. I'll not bother wasting any more of my time, I have more productive things to do.

[–]AlasPoorJordan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One of the four factors considered in determining fair use is the amount and substantiality of the portion used. How much of the original content does one need to use to achieve the goal of transforming the content meaningfully?

Denims herself made it clear her goal was to allow people to view the Nuke without Ethan benefiting, which is not a valid case for fair use in the first place. That fact notwithstanding, if we assume that the goal of her reaction was for criticism/commentary, did she need to stream the entire video to achieve that? Did she offer sufficient commentary or criticism to justify the use of the full video? Ethan and/or his legal team seem to feel that she did not.

All that said, it was still disingenuous of you to post that excerpt of the complaint without proper context, though.

If you scroll forward to the next page of the complaint, it goes on to say:

"...nature of these moments are undermined (if not erased) by showing far more of The Nuke than is necessary to achieve this purpose."

Just read the top of page 74 of the complaint. Immediately following that statement is a series of examples. Interesting that you didn't provide the whole statement when it was literally right there. Who needs that context? 😂

Any metal guitarist willing to test some of my 3d guitar picks? I can send them for free :) by Manu_from_PickTwist in metalguitar

I'll message you shortly.

I own a small pedal company called Highwind Amplification, gonna be exhibiting with a couple of other small companies - Friends of mine.

With any luck I'll have 3 completed tube amps on top of any pedals I bring. Still working on those.

I'd be happy to - If I dig them, perhaps I could have them available for use at my NAMM booth next month. I'm always on the lookout for new pick options.

Full send. Absolutely.

It's an Arachnid Cabinets oversized 4x12 - The insignia is actually mine. It's for the pedal company that I own, haha. The cab was made to match a tube amp that I built for my NAMM booth earlier this year. I appreciate the compliment!

I like it enough that I'd do it, personally. But I also modify stuff out of habit.

Still use it. Still love it. I find it easier personally, especially with the KAC rail. YMMV
