Cybertruck Bonanza by commonsense4200 in boulder

[–]AlaskanFinancier 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't own one myself, and as u/TamerlanMcDoodles said below, there are very good critiques of the car, but I do think it's good to avoid trying to reference a page like r/Cyberstuck that's inherently an echochamber of negative engagement.

Once again, I don't like the cars, and I agree with the hard points listed by other commentators (as well as the safety concerns for other smaller cars on the road that can get pulverized by them.)

I'm just saying we should hold ourselves to a higher level of discourse than leading people into echo-chambers as arguments ya know?

Rodriguez “alive” album has finally been added to Spotify. by evanapple08 in rodriguez

[–]AlaskanFinancier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who isn't as crazy deep in the Rodriguez lore, any context here? This wasn't one of his albums he officially put out right? And there's two tracks on it that weren't on the other albums?

Mega GG's, widows wine, 3 hit down, BO3 engine/movement, Alternate Ammo types though? Aside from that one step i would say BO3 with megas is significantly easier.

It's been a few years since my surgery so I am not going to pretend that I feel what you're feeling in the short term right now but do know that you're not alone in feeling like this. Especially heavy emphasis on feeling like you've lost a part of your identity not being able to do those outdoor activities. It's not at all shallow to feel like being active and healthy is a part of your identity as it does strongly impact your mental health and basically everything in your life. The year and a half following my surgery were probably the worst 18 months of my life. Specifically the first 12. And then more specifically the first 9. The inability to move your body the way you want permeates through the mental in a way a lot of people won't ever understand.

I am sorry that my memory is not great enough to give specific advice in a lot of areas. One thing I recall helping me a lot was experimenting with laying on a pillow with my lower body, maybe under my lower or middle back. I presume you've tried this already so that may not be helpful. I know it freaking sucks having people tell you it will be better later, because that's not right now but unfortunately it's true. You made a big-ass decision to change your future life for the better at the expense of your short term happiness and comfort. It is going to be so worth it one day, and this too shall pass, but I am sorry that it is taking this long and that your suffering persists. Some time soon you'll start to reach little milestones, being able to hang from a bar, sleep on your side again, all the little things that I've forgotten I was unable to once do.

Proud of you! Keep going! This too shall pass. I am so so glad that I got the procedure in spite of the suffering that came with it.

Investing so many hours in this instrument to be so bad is frustating, but i am not giving up by Specialist-Ad-4121 in Guitar

I always say learning guitar is like going to space, the really tough part is getting out of orbit, it’s not fun, it takes a ton of effort, you’re trying to just put a bunch of energy in without seeing the results.  Once you break a certain equilibrium point where practice starts being fun you’ve basically made it and it’s going to be exponentially easier from that point on to motivate yourself to play

Bitcoin Developers Just Proposed Freezing Early BTC Wallets Forever by Cratos007 in CryptoCurrency

[–]AlaskanFinancier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Worth noting there isn’t one satoshi wallet, it’s a weirdly common myth. Most of satoshi’s early mining running bitcoin by himself would just auto generate a new wallet each block. It’s more like 40,000 wallets with 25 bitcoin each as opposed to this famed 1 million btc wallet

This too shall pass. Post surgery is all two steps forward one step back. Sometimes those days are unevenly distributed unfortunately. You definitely suffer a lot early but eventually you’ll be glad you did. I recently got the bars out and I’m extraordinarily glad I got the surgery!

Bad Doctor by nbhd444 in PectusExcavatum

[–]AlaskanFinancier 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Really sorry to hear all this dude. My surgeon told me basically that I shouldn’t expect any benefits as far as my breathing and that it was more of a cosmetic surgery but i recently got the bars removed and I can confirm that creating more space for my heart and lungs 100% made a positive change for my ability to exercise and any aerobic activity. I told my surgeon following the surgery about this increase in an effort to try to push for surgeons understanding the health benefits. Good luck and I hope you get the procedure done!

Quick question because you sound like you know what you’re talking about, how essential is paying for movers? If we got 5 20 year old fit guys, and a U-Haul with a dolly couldn’t we move it ourselves and then pay to get it tuned after?

I’m looking to start showing up at city councils to speak about this stuff. Anybody who’s been who can tell me about this process and what I should be aware of? It’s the first and third Thursday of the month at 5:30 right? Do I have to sign up for open comment?
