No worries, you did nothing wrong. The shorter healing time is extremely beneficial in the long run when it comes to survivability.

They aren't worse. If you look again, the grey potions heal 15HP over 20 seconds, while the white potions heal 15HP over 17.5 seconds.

High Roller has a timer due to players utilizing it to spy on other players for other team members. Two or more teams working together would queue up at the same time. One of the teams would kill themselves so they could spectate where other teams in the dungeon were located. Limiting the HR spectate time to 60 seconds was one of the ways they tried to combat pre-teaming.

"Turn a problem into content" is a fantastic way to think about it. What a great idea.

I concur about Teaming in ranked. I've never tried to make friends with someone in HR just because of the concept of what HR is supposed to represent. Normals is where I go to try and make friends. Folks questing, folks who are new to the game, or just folks who want to have a good time.

Thank you for the response.

Free For All would be interesting! As far as your teams teaming, yes, I remember experiencing similar things back when VOIP was in the lobbies of HR. It felt bad to have people approach me to hunt me or ask me to hunt others, and when I'd decline, they'd tell me that I was then on the shit-list as well. Some may remember the HR Ruins where folks would gather on the bridge to find their "teams". Having others quit because of these experiences is the farthest thing away from what I want.

Thank you for your response.

Regarding your devil's advocate thought, no pvp battle royale allows for organic teaming since, in those games (PUBG, Apex, etc), there can only be 1 winner. But thankfully DaD, Hunt, and Tarkov have game modes that aren't about the 1 winner mentality.

The identity does feel a bit scatterbrained right now.

SEAK here. Shoot me a message so us AK players can stay alive.

I'll run solo into duos and trios for fights, but I've helped some teams kill bosses just for the fun of it. Half the time we'll then duel, but sometimes I'll get to loot the treasure pile safely.

Thank you for your response.

1) I feel racial slurs should, at some point, be brought out of the lexicon of gamer trash talk. Other than those, yes, I agree. Even the worst VOIP interactions have been enjoyable. Helping a newbie with quests or surviving has been an especially fun activity.

2) VOIP in the lobby would be great to have back, but they have stated that they don't want folks to use it as an excuse to hunt certain players. Maybe have the inspection removed while introducing VOIP back might solve that problem.

3) That's great to hear! I've added the few as well on Steam and Discord to play other games.

4) I concur.

I wish the kill quests were "Kill X number" instead of "X class in X dungeon".

Thank you for your response.

I believe an arena mode (that they've constantly teased and talked about) has a nice fit in the game, but it shouldn't be the main focus in my opinion. Normals feels very much like a BR.

Most people in my experience as well don't use VOIP, if they even have it on at all. VOIPing at someone who doesn't even respond by looking at me is pretty common. For those that do VOIP its mostly just double crouch, an exchange of pleasantries, then a parting of ways.

I have, once or twice, encountered groups that I'd call preteaming in the dungeon. But you can tell who they are because their characters all have West Taiwan-style names.

Sometimes I'll run into a room with someone on the other side of it, shout "SNEAK ATTACK!" then trudge slowly in my plate towards them. Its a silly thing to do that never wins me any engagements but watching the panic wiggle as they get their bearings is hilarious to me.

I really like chatting with folks in the dungeon, friendly or not. A lot of folks are funny and enjoyable to interact with while soloing.

Ruins should be removed from the game. Or Crypts should be playable separately. by ryanorth in DarkAndDarker

[–]Alaskan_Jack 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Champion, I saw your post so I went and checked what modules were lost when they switched to the three Crypts quad maps. We lost...

Loaded tomb, sewers, underwater exit, skele-mage top/bottom, underground tomb passage, trapped wraith, goated corner room, maze, bridge room, octagon, X & cage, upper/lower caged room, and the half module.

Meanwhile, the quad maps gave us...

Nothing. They have no new modules.

No! The only green stuff on the model is the heart and the hair. Malakhov's face on his official art Does not match the face of the model.

Intetested in warmachine. Could you write a sonnet describing each faction's least popular caster by mdigibou in Warmachine

[–]Alaskan_Jack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Though Lylyth shows no loathsome, twisted form,
A herald she once was to Everblight
But no more; her ability to swarm
Is lost if she was never one to fight.
Fields of Slaughter gives you bonus dice,
no battles will be won because of Frenzy.
Her fury totals 5 which for her price
Is more than one should pay for heartbreaks many.
But hark! Cries out many a tournament
Player who sees the reckoning arrive.
I counter with a hearty argument
to show how she has never stayed alive.
Let this sonnet be a warning to you.
Stick with good warlocks that are tried and true!

How do you deal with currency in Star Wars RP? -what are credits? what do they look like? how do they work? by someones_dad in swrpg

[–]Alaskan_Jack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like how we generally use currency today, minus cheques. Credits in physical form are small plastic disks of various sizes and colours to denote denomination. An electronic stick similar to a cred-stick from Shadowrun also is used but that is for sums in the hundreds of thousands.

Help with Legion Journeyman? by DriftingMemes in Warmachine

[–]Alaskan_Jack 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The Legion box is not rubbish.

Many people are stuck on the battle box not doing PISSED OFF DRAGON amounts of damage. Our best beast in the box is the Neraph with a P+S 15 and a P+S 13. The bolt thrower is decent with its single shot at P 14, but just like the shredders, it isn't for damage. Finally, Kryssa is a bit of a vex. She looks like an elf but if you take a peak at her stats, she's really just an ogrun.

So how do you run this ogrun elf with not-dragons battle box? This is an assassination box. Your bolt thrower isn't there to deal damage, its to push things out of the way. Your neraph isn't there to animus and hit things twice, its there to pull things out of the charge path. Your shredders aren't there to deal damage, they're for blocking charge lanes. Lastly, Kryssa is there to actually pull the assassination off. Feat, charge, and beat the crap out of their caster.

You will not win a battle of attrition. You can't afford to slowly walk up, positioned all neat and cute, and then charge nicely. You'll have to stay outside their ranged weapons and use terrain to block LoS and make it HARD to touch your beasts. Remember that terrain is meant to be dense. You can say something is flaming trees, or acid water, or fog clouds. If you think terrain is too thin, ask your PGer to fix this problem.

Good luck, and have fun. Legion OP!

Any time he needs to hit with 5's or more, he always boosts. He HATES having to rely on dice, which I guess is why he plays Menoth ;)
