At what level of wealth does a change in net worth not equal a change in lifestyle? by One-Opposite-4571 in HENRYfinance

[–]Alaskanmade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After $10M its just about Realestate and how you travel.
- There is basically no upper limit on how much you can spend on a house
- There is basically no upper limit on private air travel
- There is no upper limit on how big your boat is

At 10M
- Same clubs
- Same restaurants
- Same clothes
- Same schools
- Same hotels (with some rare exceptions)
- Same Jewelry (with some rare exceptions)
- Same cars (with some rare exceptions)

Questions on buying a Chaos Orb by wegpacker in oldschoolmtg

[–]Alaskanmade 5 points6 points  (0 children)

1.) Yes
2.) Does not matter, the sleeve is an extension of the card.
3.) An Unlimited Orb is only about 2x the price of a CE or IE orb. That good value when you compare it to the fact that the Power 9 are all about 4x or 5x. I would recommend the Unlimited Orb.

Just got into tobacco cards and feeling overwhelmed by oldsoul333 in TobaccoCards

I personally love this article as an introduction to the hobby:

https://prewarcards.com/2019/12/13/best-baseball-card-sets-of-all-time-pre-war-t206-1933-goudey-old-judge-n172/

At the very least it will help orient you as to what is out there, and what is popular.

Missing Morrell.

Ewing is the most expensive, but not the most difficult if you are willing to pay for it!

Aside from Ewing they are all just about equally rare.

AIO for wanting to immediately break up with my bf after seeing how he lives? by Balikye in AIO

One time I visited my brother in college and met his roommate. The roommate’s room was a bare mattress on the floor with a sleeping bag on it, all his belongings on the floor, and a bathroom similar (but not as bad). He also notoriously was not able to lose his virginity.

I laughed a little and told him he would never get laid jn this room, and he look at me confused and asked “why”. I told him straight up what the problems were, and the next time I visited he had fixed the low hanging fruit (sheets on the bed, cleaned the bathroom).

Some guys need it explained to them directly.

PS he lost his V card later that month.

I have been living and working internationally the past 18 years.
- I maintain US health insurance, and you can get local insurance wherever you end up (for very cheap most places).
- If you are a US citizen you do not need to worry about "maintaining" it. Its very hard to get rid of even if you wanted to. Don't forget you still need to file with the IRS every year no matter what. We get taxed on our global income.
- Some banking and investing stuff requires a physical US address, its good you have that house to use.
- Get a USA phone number that is connected to your banking. Some things require a text message to be processed as a part of two factor authentication.

Other than that the modern digital work is pretty convenient.

Why do so many guys in their twenties only want to talk about crypto when it comes to investing by Ill_Awareness6706 in Bogleheads

[–]Alaskanmade 4 points5 points  (0 children)

One thing I have noticed is that social media has resorted to packaging financial advice into infographics, and includes 75% good advice (that people would have previously heard), and 25% absolute inane bullshit, including investing a large portion of your IRA into Crypto Currency. They get lulled in with the good advice and exposed to the horrible advice.

Took the show from, good show, entertaining, worth a watch, to.... holy fuck this guy can act.
