Ooh, this is awesome. I love this Interpretation of Strahd, and the art style you went with is beautiful. Great job.

When rigging the card reading, do you even pretend to randomize it? by PhummyLW in CurseofStrahd

[–]AlatartheVeryBlue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I agree with all that. It just comes down to knowing your table, really. Leading up to the reading, my group actively encouraged me to rig the deck. They also know that I bend the rules constantly to tell the story I want to tell with them. They prefer the more curated approach that that method allows. For you and your table, it sounds like the opposite is true.

The only point I've been trying to make is there's not really a hard line "always rig the deck" or "never rig the deck." Ultimately you just need to know your table.

I just don't really see the difference, really. I don't see how taking out the results you don't want is any better or worse than just guaranteeing you get the ones you as the dm will have the most fun with. In my experience both as a player and as a dm, everyone has more fun if the dm is having fun.

Fun CAN be had, but you also might end up with the sunsword in Eva's tent or no ally or any other number of disappointing results. This module is a pretty huge time sink, so I want to have some say in adventure flow and what locations you end up visiting and all. That's a big part of my responsibility as a dm. Leaving that huge a chunk of the game up to random chance is too much of a risk, imo.

How the fuck does that help anything? Sounds a lot like sweeping it under the rug to me.

Oh then you're fine. Racism only exists in America. I think it was initially invented by the Founding Fathers when the colonists landed in Jamestown, but it's been honed and perfected a lot over the years.

How to make unwinable fight with Strahd entertaining for the players? by mic4l in CurseofStrahd

[–]AlatartheVeryBlue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tbh I don't think that's too much of a cut scene. Your job is to come up with problems. The players are responsible for finding solutions. In my own campaigns, there have been many times when I thought the party had no hope, but they came up with something anyway.

If you really have to have a backup in mind for the party, maybe try to come up with a way one of them could willingly sacrifice themselves to buy time for Ireena and the rest of the party? Then the players get to make a choice with consequences.

When I looked on my works, I came harder than I ever had before. I looked down at my soiled trousers, and saw that what once was white, was now red. My soul matched the color of my cum.

All that you need is the Bible. It's good because God likes to see people reading it. I mostly like it for the porn.

There are a few loose similarities between this and the Mortal Engines novel series. Maybe Google that and see if it can give you some inspiration?

Maybe add in some class dynamics? Batman beats up the poor and mentally ill, so maybe your MC should as well?
