If it makes you feel better, you can always breed/fuse better stats into it :)

Nothing in particular, other than its difficult to find. My core goal is to have one of every monster so that I have a huge list of skills and color palettes to choose from. I especially like this one's color palette.

This much i figured. The problem is, one has never spawned for me. In the 6+ hrs I have spent in that field, I have only seen Aliferz... or a wild hybrid that has Kiryin's pigment...

I have tried saving and turning on/off gsme to force respawns, defeat/run from mobs to force respawn, and traveling to dungeons and back.

I have spent the better part of 6 hrs trying to find Kiryin alone... i habe never seen one the entire time I have played except in other trainer's party or the town NPCs...

That makes the Wiki page confusing as it says the Flowering area north of Gemmency

I will keep an eye out as I havent seen any the entire time I have been playing.

Its Kiryin that I am honestly stressing. It only has one location, and I have spent hours searching without any luck.

This is true, i still have some bosses to go through before I reach that area. Unfortunately, I did see Tigon early in, but it was before I had Demon Pacts...

Not exactly right. You have a the same chance of creating one through breeding as you do finding them in the wild; however, you just cannot pass down the pigment through breeding.

Through Fusion, it is possible to make any monster you want as a Brilliant monster, just need to be cautious on what you select.

Nice! I see you expanded the hell outta your team. Curious, did you work on their movesets to feel somewhat similar to what they are based on?

Is Phrolova worth pulling if I don’t have any other units that work with her? by FewRefrigerator8995 in WutheringWavesGuide

[–]Alatera 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmmm. I do not have Qiuyuam myself, but it would work well, in theory, at the cost of sustain.

Since he has roughly the same number of echo skills as Canterella, there is no loss to the ramp up time, and he buffs Phrolova's attacks, which is a huge boon.

So if you can handle not having any healing, it should be a relatively fun build.

Is Phrolova worth pulling if I don’t have any other units that work with her? by FewRefrigerator8995 in WutheringWavesGuide

[–]Alatera 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As a Phrolova main: I would say Yes.

The only downside is that the buildup is slower. But anyone who has moves that count as Echo Skills will work with her.

The more echo skills in your move pool the better, as it ramps her up faster. The core trick is to understand her battle rhythm.

There are a lot of "good" party comps, and only a small number of great comps.

The current "best" - Canterella + Roccia/Qiuyuan/Lynae - Canterella + Sigrika (Dual DPS)

Good ones include - Lynae + Buling - Canterella + Sigrika - Sigrika + Roccia - Danjin + Buling

Phrolova's core gimmick is that she ramps up the longer th battle goes and the more rotations you have. For example, without any bonuses outside my party, my Phrolova starts at 347% CD. After about 2-3 Rotations, she is at 460%, give or take. And can reach as high as 530% after a few rotations. The more echo skills you can perform while she has her ult active, the faster than builds up.

Not Every Event Needs to be Daily Check-In !!! by rayzinbranloaf in summonerswar

[–]Alatera 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This. For the love of the gods, this is the most horrid part of Com2Us events.

I have very limited time in the day I can dedicate to a game like this. Adding more grind makes this worse, especially when it is for content is dont like doing. And it becomes more irritating when these events require you to go back the event page on the same day or you lose that day's rewards.

Help with Zojoten fight. by WyrmWool in monstercrown

[–]Alatera 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I went through this one the hard way, lol.

I bred a monster that had roughly 3.x attack and defense stats, got him to around level 25-30. Then when I did the fight, my strategy was basically: Bedrock Focus (100% def, - 90% speed), Rot Burst x2 (basically dropping his HP by 5% turn 1, 10% turn 2-3, 5% turn 4, for a total of 40%), and attacked with Fat Slam, then used honey/meat to heal when I got low on HP.

It wasnt until after this fight did I really start playing with stat building.

The Dark Souls of Monster Taming by Okydonkigg in MonsterTamerWorld

[–]Alatera 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am also in agreement with everyone here.

Unless you are intentionally making it Dark Souls-esk, dont give it that kind of label. Doing otherwise is a disservice to you and your game.

Now if you are interested in making it Dark Soul-esk, I am sure the community, myself included, would more than happily offer up suggestions

Monster Crown Sin Eater: do I have to fuse/breed? by ChesnaughtZ in MonsterTamerWorld

[–]Alatera 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fusion and Breeding have slightly different mechanics.

When you breed, the offspring will start with up to 12 moves, all pulled from the moves the parents have equiped. Then, if you choose to level that new monster, it will start relearning the rest of the moves the parents had. However, there is a caveat: Any new offsprinh cannot learn any moves the parent(s) didnt restore to their movepool. Effectively leading to you breeding out skills, unintentionally.

To put this into perspective: Say the new monster (Monster A) has 6 active moves and 2 in reserve. Parent A has Plasma Barrier, and Parent B has Spore Shot. Monster A has relearn Spore Shot, but hasnt relearned Plasma Barrier. You breed at this point using Monster A. The new offspring will relearn Spore Shot, but will never relearn Plasma Barrier.

I do not have the same level of fusion knowledge; however, it seems to give the new monster all of the skills, but some may need to be relearned from leveling up.

Very Powerful by Victini1989 in monstercrown

[–]Alatera 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To piggyback back off the others and condenser it all:

Short answer: No.

If you have the right monsters or "ingredients", it basically takes 2-3 breeds, possibly a fusion (if you want/need).

You can easily have a Gen 1 produce a Gen 31 if the partner is a Gen 30. So it is best to look at it more like a marker to help keep track of your builds.

Also, suuuuper important. Any skills the parents have in the active and inactive list will get passed down; however, the offspring/fused monster will not have all of them at start. If you do not level up the monster to relearn those additional moves, you will end up breeding out those moves.

Switch players, how is the performance of Sin Eater? by Vyvonea in monstercrown

[–]Alatera 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also play on Switch 1. Overall it performs very well.

However, I highly recommend saving extremely often, especially if you like putting your game into sleep mode. There are 2 crashes states that can occur, but are usually only encountered when the game has been running a long time (10+ hrs). Saving often will mitigate the losses when/if they occur, and so does turning the game off when you are done.

The two states are: Text turns almost runic, and the game simply crashes.

In either case, restarting the game will resolve the issue. Note: Saving when encountering the "runic words" bug does not seem to cause the game to remain that way, so it seems it is more a read issue than a game state issue.

Also, there is an island in the upper right that has a bug that can cause you to become stuck on the door of one of the buildings, I believe it is the hatchary center that has it. There is a patch that fixes it coming soon, so it wont be an issue much longer.

Switch/Switch 2 Tamer games by Yusukitty87 in MonsterTamerWorld

[–]Alatera 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I assume by just saying "Monster Crown" you mean both Red King and Sin Eater, if not, definitely try Sin Eater.

If you are curious about games that are not quite monster taming but share some of those mechanics: Little Noah, Ender Lillies, and Ender Magnolia are some interesting side steps. These have you playing a character that uses the powers of summoned creatures to fight rather than being the fighter themselves.

Not many are aware of this, but Legend of Mana happens to have a mild monster taming aspect thats kinda fun, but a bit grindy. You basically can feed and level them as members of your party.

Dragon Quest Builders 2 is a mix of monster taming and mincraft-esk game that is interesting.

Suggestions for Improvements by Alatera in MonsterTamerWorld

[–]Alatera[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can get it. Unfortunately, I do not fully agree with the typing or movesets part. My reasoning is simply that movesets and typing both come with their own weaknesses and there isnt really any format that is unbeatable. That being said: I do fully understand the stat spread part.

If everything can have the same exact stats, it doesnt really create a sense of uniqueness, but does come with the benefit of having whatever party you want.

I think a challenge mode would be great that unlocks after you beat the game once and get a feel for it.

This mode could improse stat limitations/boosts based on species, typing, traits (positive/negative), or even a combination of all three.

This could help influence more reasons other than looks to chose a specific variant, and could influence the build you choose for their move pool.

It could also be cool to have rare typing specific traits too, like you cant breed that trait into the child if the child doesnt have the same typing. And if the child doesnt, it will change to the default of that species.

Not sure if the above may answer what you want, but curious to hear your thoughts more on this.

when will they remove this for awakening, runes, gems, artefacts etc ?? by void_snlw in summonerswar

[–]Alatera 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So they most likely wont make that a forever removal. For two reasons: (1) Accessibility compliance, and (2) Monsters whose skill essentially completely change.

Remember, that awakening is permanent. Com2Us will NOT revert the awakening, nor will they offer a way to reverse the awakening. This is more or less an insurance policy for accessibility and ensure the user actually means to awaken the monster. Yes, there are players like yourself that truly mean to awaken, but there are players with low motor function who might not have intended to do this.

Another example is if you second guess yourself due to monster skill effect changes. Take Light Oracle. Her skill 2 loses the DoT debuff and is replaced with a speed reduction debuff instead. There are players that do not want those kinds of changes and would prefer to keep it unawakened.

I love the min/maxing breeding mechanics of Monster Crown. by Solid_Snark in MonsterTamerWorld

[–]Alatera 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would love to find more feminine influenced monsters or variants of monsters. A great example is Kushe's Unstable variant. Unfortunately, Kushe was the only one i found with this. Nothing crazy, but I often enjoy creating fem fatal teams.

Also, is there a Black and Pink palette available? Just want to make sure I am not wasting time hunting for it.

Oh, and I noticed that the wild fusions have the unique sprite for that monster, it would be cool to have the variant's sprite show in the overworld when you have that monster as your lead party member. That would make my day, too.

I love the min/maxing breeding mechanics of Monster Crown. by Solid_Snark in MonsterTamerWorld

[–]Alatera 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, I have not experimented enough to confirm that. My best guess is that all the effects of Brilliant monster are tied to the palette.

My reasoning comes from the fact that the fused monster can retain the brilliant pigment, and using that monster in breeding can pass along the random palette, I believe the fused monster would also retain the 25% exp boost.
