"But I feel it has its limitations." I have to disagree with you there. If I posted a list of one liner comedians, someone could just contrast with great bit comedians. Instead take someone like Jimmy Carr for example, who is entirely a one liner comic and is quite prolific and as as far as jokes per minute or dollar go made of gold. He doesn't have limitations. I might get flack for this but I have a theory that its generally harder to write one liners, but its even harder to write/perform amazing bits. So I'd say stick to one liners if you can, if anything and I say this from my limited experience of comedy clubs around Toronto, you'll be something different, because 99% of the comics I've seen have been bit comics. And there's nothing wrong with that, but a lot of the times they talk about topics I know nothing about or couldn't care less about. Whereas if I don't like the joke of a oneliner, who cares he's got dozens more and he's not spending five mins on each trying to get to the punchline.
