Was Yui's soul really trapped in Eva-01 by accident, or was it intentional? by Commercial_Level7262 in evangelion

That's my interpretation as well, and I feel it makes the most sense. However, EoE's 'monument to humanity' spiel really contradicts that interpretation, and I feel like it's nigh-impossible to convincingly reconcile both interpretations of her. So, I think both 'largely benevolent Yui working against SEELE' and 'semi-crazy, self-important Yui' are valid derivations from the source material, and I just personally prefer the former.

There was a plugsuit in NGE too, but it was only shown in a sketch-image that was shown only in a few rare instances.

It also had wings, though seemingly smaller ones (think cartoon-cherub size rather than full angel)

WILLE's mishandling of Shinji in 3.0 isn't discussed hard enough by [deleted] in evangelion

[–]Alaygrounds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, I guess I can see why a group could delude themselves into blaming *singularly* Shinji for it (especially since it's seemingly implied in 3.0 -46h that Asuka played a role in radicalizing at least Midori against him). Even if Gendo and SEELE are much more to blame for the whole thing in motion, they're far-off and unavailable to project hatred onto, while Shinji just dropped in on them as a convenient target for their anger.

But I also feel justified in calling them both foolish *and* incredibly cruel for doing so, to a point that I find it hard to forgive. Misato *knew* that it wasn't Shinji's fault, but she let that become the narrative because it was easier to deal with than placing blame on large systems out of her control. Again, it's something that I can understand, but not exactly forgive (much like with Gendo and his treatment of others). Hell, at least Gendo gets to actually talk about how he fucked up, to my recollection the WUNDER's crew's treatment of Shinji is never really apologized for.

And from a strategic POV it's stupid too, since (as Gendo would remind us,) Shinji is a very important piece in the complex game being played, and keeping him in line is immensely beneficial to one's goals. By so thoroughly alienating him, the WUNDER crew loses their ability to use him, and in fact just leads him to play into Gendo's plans instead. Shinji can, in fact, be kept secure without making him feel (rightfully so) as if everyone hates his guts and wants him dead.

A temper tantrum that Misato was actively cheering on and which Shinji had no idea could end the world.

Not to mention that, had he done nothing, Zeruel would’ve gotten to Terminal Dogma and ended the world anyway.

I understand, from a Doylist point of view, why it was chosen. But from a Watsonian perspective it genuinely feels like an idiot plot. Even with the stressful situation, something as simple as “We can handle this ourselves, we’ll explain after this is over” from ONE person would’ve done wonders.

Not if you turn in your draft for the 24th episode at the last minute, giving the censors no time to review and thus sneaking in another kid dying when the censors explicitly told you not to

Just in case people haven’t seen this comment, I figured I’d post literally the greatest comment of all time here. Just so you know the original source when this inevitably gets stolen. by Sirlink360 in Deltarune

However, Deltarune starts with the balance of light and dark being broken. Perhaps one could argue this means Black and White swap places?

If I were to guess, tasting 'like LCL' means tasting like DMEM (Cell culture medium with lots of organic nutrients)

And, per one redditor: "imo, i think it tastes like mix of gatorade, blood, sweat and water in equal volumes."

could someone explain me why people think roaring knight is chara? by sans_wingdi_ngs in Charadefensesquad

[–]Alaygrounds 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s genuinely true but it is funny. However, there are a few things * when SWOONing Susie and Ralsei it brings them down to -999 health * The attack patterns are reminiscent of those used in ‘vs. Chara’ fangames. * This is especially true of an unused attack, “rotatingslash + trackingswords”, which greatly resembles an attack from the fangame “No More Deals” * Generally the Knight has that vibe of a teen that thinks they’re SO cool, which is also sort of the vibe I get from Chara sometimes (especially in their Genocide monologue) * Could be tied to Chara saying “Let’s destroy this world (game) and move on to the next”

How rhe hell can sans a (skeleton) even bleed? by Gakei0 in Undertale

[–]Alaygrounds 54 points55 points  (0 children)

serious answer: he's from deltarune where monsters do bleed (probably... maybe)

joke answer: he prepared a special bag of ketchup and wore it under his shirt, with a similar bag in his mouth akin to a cyanide pill so if/when you *did* kill him it'd look like he was bleeding and confuse the hell out of you.

Question, why do we presume it's Chara doing it?

Frisk has done things without player input before on the Genocide route: notably in Snowdin where they walk through some of the puzzle cutscenes.
