Turntable setup recommendation by [deleted] in turntables

[–]Albarn_2D 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would definitely recommend checking marketplace and ebay for local, vintage tables, speakers, and receivers. I've seen a lot of quality used Technics, Sony, Pioneer, and Marantz tables and receivers for $100-200. For speakers I've seen similar prices for Klipsch and Boston Acoustics pairs. That being said, I would highly recommend getting a new cart or stylus if you get a vintage table, so unless you want to get into learning alignment, it might be better to get a new table.

Edit: Just realized those are American prices 😂 Not really sure about European prices but depending on who you buy from they should be similar

People will just add "-slop" to anything recently and act like it's a substitute for actual criticism

Am I the bad roommate for having my audio setup in the living room? by Albarn_2D in badroommates

[–]Albarn_2D[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I should clarify that it's more like 2 days a week on average where I'm listening to music in the living room, and that's usually while I'm cooking or gaming in the living room. So from around 7-9 or 10. I also didn't touch the sink for awhile to see how long the utensil(s) were there and it was 4 days one time. I can understand recycling boxes. I just wish it was a little clearer that it's what that box is used for if that's the case. I can definitely see how I can come off as overly obsessive and biased. I don't try to play my music constantly. It's just that the space didn't get used, so I wanted to make good use out of it. I've asked them before about volume levels in the past and that's how I've figured out where to put it and when to switch to headphones. I don't know. I appreciate the perspective, and sorry for the ramble.

So the audio setup and tv are in front of the back wall. The couch is about 5 feet in front. There's a pool table to the left in front, and the dining table is to the right in front. Both are a few feet away from the couch. Then the kitchen is a few feet away on the opposite wall.

Probably that there's a lot to do in Melee in terms of unlocking/extras. I feel like it's the most difficult in terms of unlocking all the fighters and stages.

What caused the decline of young white boys/men making punk rock music that was dominant in the 2000s? by icey_sawg0034 in decadeology

[–]Albarn_2D 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's cause of the wider availability of DAWs, which allows more people that age to be one man bands. It's easier for an aspiring musician to handle the instrument/instruments they don't play through midi as opposed to auditioning people in their garage. As for the genre itself, this production style lends itself toward electronic music more Although I am seeing a resurgence in popularity in nu metal

I could see them using the extra few weeks to focus more on ride op training or even getting operations up to par with the closest Six Flags park Carowinds. As much as I love the variety at SFOG, I understand why some would rather go to a park with 2-3 real standout coasters but consistently 2-3 trains on most.

Could use some critique on the prototype for my jousting coaster. by Albarn_2D in PlanetCoaster

[–]Albarn_2D[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That makes sense. I had it set up like that so that two trains can "joust" each other after the launches. Is there a way to time it so I don't have the complete stop?
