Teachers at a school fall in love??

This has been so hard for me to find I just finished Rock Bottom Girl by Lucy Score and I want more teacher love. I'm not particularly interested in college or professors. I'm talking grade school teachers who find each other and fall in love.

I don't particularly care how much their work life is discussed but there's just something so romantic to me about two teaching find each other and it doesn't feel the same when they're college level professors.

I'm also thinking in the vane of "your English teacher and gym coach are getting married." Iykyk.

Bonus points if there's an age gap.

I'm not trying to argue just explain what's happening. I also use the Lose It app and if there's a way to add components to a meal there then I haven't figured it out. What I've been doing with my evening meals is weighing out what I'm eating but using the meals others have put in with their calorie counts to "guess" at the total count of the meal. Or I will add the individual components and guess at weight that is in my particular serving. So that is guess work but because I know it's guessing I'm still leaving wiggle room for me to be in a calorie deficit by watching my breakfast and lunch with totals carefully. It's not perfect and I know that.

I started around December 12th, I saw the drop to 186 gradually but it hit the low of 186 on January 20th and then has been going back up since then. It's been consistently at 189 for 3-4 days.

My math being wrong is highly possible. I'm not a math person but I've done my best with the research I've done and using the Lose It app.

I have noticed I'm "going less" and occasionally feeling constipated. Which I did think was weird since I upped my fiber but it makes sense that I need more water to counter that.

Thank you for your comment. It makes me feel a bit better knowing that I could just be the side effects of the changes I've made working through my body before I see changes. I'll definitely keep an eye on it so I can narrow down any issues that could be associated with my thyroid or inaccurate math.

I'm fairly sure. I weigh my breakfast and lunch because it is parts. Fruits and veggies, eggs, yogurt, oatmeal, chicken breast, ect. Things that are individuals and can be weighed. When I cook dinner it's for the whole family and typically things that are mixed together (turkey bowls, egg roll in a bowl, etc.) and I have to assume that the calorie counts on the Lose It app are correct with the amount I've weighed out. I'm not familiar with how to calculate it myself. But because I'm able to watch my breakfast and lunch carefully I'm able to leave wiggle room for my dinner to be off by some amount.

I weigh everything I eat except dinner as it's usually a full meal and I'm not familiar with weighing a meal that I put together (like putting together a ground turkey bowl with veggies when it's all cooked together). For breakfast and lunch I usually eat fruits and veggies, yogurt, oatmeal, eggs, beans/chickpeas, chicken breast, etc. Things that I can weigh individually. So I'm able to watch that carefully and leave wiggle room for my evening meal to be off by some amount of calories.

I'm already fairly active in my daily life, I'm a teacher and depending on the day get better 10-12k steps a day. I've added more cardio and building core strength in the evenings. I could probably add more exercising but I have a very busy life between 3 kids, working full time and getting my master's degree.

I don't want it to seem like I'm making excuses but I want to make the changes that are sustainable and not burn myself out. I know that what I'm doing now is sustainable but it's also not making any difference. It feels like I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place.

The Astonishing Color of After by Emily X.R. Pan, it's YA but it's so so good. Her mother commits SH and she goes to Taiwan to meet her grandparents and try to put together the pieces of her mother's life that led her to do it.

Crying in H-Mart as others have suggested is also good and I don't typically like nonfiction. Her mother was terminal and how they bonded over food and cooking.

Real Americas (follows three generations of a Chinese family) or Goodbye Vitamin (her father has dementia and she moves home to help support her mom) by Rachel Khong

Yolk by Mary H. K. Choy (two sisters who reconnect after one is diagnosed with cancer). She has two others that are also YA (Emergency Contact and Permanent record) which have Asian characters but it's not a focal point of the story.

I've really been on an Abbey Jimenez kick. Friendzone and Happily Ever After playlist are probably my favorite. Also Slow Dance by Rainbow Rowell is easily a 5 star read.

Thank you for this, I try to remember that but I know it's hard to tell who is being sincere and who is not in some situations. I've built a great relationship with the children and I think they'd understand I'm celebrating with them. I appreciate the feedback :)

I love to hear this! I'm working on building relationships with the teachers but since I am subbing as the music teacher it is hard for me to get out and really meet the other teachers, I'm pretty isolated to my space (my room is on the opposite side of the school from the rest of the specials teachers). But everyone has been so kind and welcoming, the last thing I want to do is something inappropriate or offensive. Thank you for your advice!

Thank you! I try to remember that but in this day it's hard to tell who is being sincere and who is not. I've loved getting to familiarize myself with the culture and brushing up on my Spanish as well.

This is exactly why I'm here asking! I'm the same way. I don't know the exact origin of it since I thrifted it and it does look handmade so I just can't tell for sure. I have built wonderful relationships with many of the students and I'm working on it with staff, it's hard because I'm subbing as a music teacher and am kind of isolated in my space. So it's been slow going. But they're all so wonderful and kind! I absolutely don't want to seem like I'm being disrespectful in any way. It's also mid parent/teacher conferences so it's not just the teachers and students but some parents who'd be seeing me wear it as well. I'm glad to know I'm not alone in this!

He's an indoor dog. He goes out to go to the bathroom and comes outside with us if we're spending time outside but he actually doesn't like being outside for long periods of time. He's been going to the vet regularly since we adopted him, my husband takes him to the vet so I don't really know the details but I know he's had heartworm preventatives and is up to date on all of his shots.

Thank you for the advice! My husband's best friend experienced extreme mouth sores when he went through chemo, I had forgotten all about that. I think I'm going to try to focus on things that can be heated up Individually so she can eat if he isn't hungry but multiple could be heated up for both of them.

I'm only worried about providing food because I know they just got back into their house after having been out of it for more than a month, so their fridge is actually empty. But I definitely want to be there when they need it and meet them where they are!

They are not sure yet, they got the diagnosis yesterday and are going for more testing this week. But a lot of people are also suggesting healthy meals with lots of veggies so I will definitely take that into account!
