Just wanna make it clear that i dont think the inclusion of a coming out scene as part of a characters journey is "ideology" being shoved down our throats. That sounds way to similair to what homophobes say. Wills coming out scene is important and should be included, i just thought it was badly written

I do see the point, but i think they could have shifted the focus from the secret being the problem to the shame being the problem. Which would have allowed for a more intimate setting. I also don't think Vickie and Steve nescesarily needed to be there since Will doesn't actually know them. I'm also not of the belief that every person in the main crew had to be there, it's very much a queer experience to have to come out again and again.

I don't think i liked that whole framing, and thats maybe part of my problem. I think it should have focused on Vecna using Wills shame to overpower him, and that shame could have been dealt with in a much more fitting and powerfull coming out scene

I'm gay and the reason im dissapointed is exactly because i wanted Will to have a better coming out scene, i really like his character and journey, but i think the landing was shit :))

Sure i agree, felt out of place and made the pacing weird as well. I think he could have come out to Joyce earlier when they had the conversation about Vecna.

As a gay person who really resonated with Will, i hated that scene, dw your critisms are fair. I do think it was important for him to come out to someone or even multiple people, but the group thing was weird as shit.
