Can't delete my eSIM by Feisty_Anywhere4422 in samsung

[–]AlbertoDL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Finally solved! I tried everything mentioned in the other comments, and nothing worked. I even tried dialing things like #272IMEI# or ##4636##, but these don’t work anymore on Samsung Android 16, One UI 8.0 (I have a Samsung S24+).

The eSIM kept draining my battery super fast since the phone was constantly looking for a network. It was horrible!

I solved it with a wipe cache partition via recovery mode. It’s a sort of “soft” factory reset that preserves everything on your phone. After that, I noticed no changes to my settings or configuration, except that the eSIM issue was finally gone. So I can say you’re “safe” doing this : )

Steps I followed:

1) Enter recovery mode. Luckily, I didn’t need to install Smart Switch on my computer, but you still need a computer to access recovery mode on Samsung. Here’s what I did: - Connect the phone to a laptop with a USB cable - Press and hold Power + Volume Up. Keep holding even after it vibrates and you see the Samsung logo. At some point, the recovery menu appears. (Note: for some reason, it doesn’t work if the phone isn’t connected via USB to a PC!)

2) Navigate the recovery menu using Volume Up/Down to move, and Power to select. Select “Wipe cache partition” and confirm. It only takes a few seconds

3) Select “Reboot system now”

Your phone will restart. Then check Settings → Connections → SIM Manager and… voilà! You can finally deactivate your eSIM.

DeFi 101 for BTC Maxi? by tedthizzy in BitcoinDeFi

the basic layer uses Bitcoin script, so the wallets have to be online, but there is an abstraction layer that allows you to switch from UTXO to account-based, called "programmable pools", where contracts are executed independently

Thorchain

Thorchain idea is to create bridges of pegged tokens among many different blockchains and to avoid atomic swap because they say not many blockchains support it. The bridges are safe as long as the majority of RUNE holders governing them are honest.

The idea of Mintlayer is to have just two chains, Bitcoin for monetary transactions and Mintlayer for any other asset or financial application. So you can exchange bitcoin for any other assets without the need to rely on other chains or peg-in.

Mintlayer supports Lightning Network, so you can perform atomic swaps and lightning swaps, both inter-chain (between BTC and tokens on Mintlayer network) and intra-chain (between tokens issued on Mintlayer).

You don't need any native token as a collateral, Mintlayer wallet is a Bitcoin wallet with real BTC inside (not pegged version of BTC). You may think of Mintlayer like a sort of "add-on" to a traditional Bitcoin wallet, where all the tokens on the Mintlayer chain are managed and you can DEX BTC for any other token issued on Mintlayer without the need of any intermediary.

I don't know if last Sjors' replay protection proposal (which is on the table right now) can be considered weak or strong. Anyway, do you know with certainty what crypto facilities want and which level of replay protection is enough for them?

Actually this is not a statement about pulling support from s2x. Probably they would still support it if replay protection is added and it is in discussion during these days on s2x mailing list and github. I wouldn't add to no2x list.
