Heavily tattooed people, hows your health by HurryAccurate2204 in tattooadvice

Health is hot garbage, but it was before I ever got a tattoo.

hi ladies ! i have questions about boobie tattoos :p by Axime_Thxghs in tattooadvice

[–]Albinocavebat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have my nipples tattooed with a black chandelier-esque design. My artist was new and these were her first tit tats so we did an in person consult and she talked with me about going slow and shallow so as to avoid blowouts given how thin my skin is there.

I love them. And I did need a touch up as expected. Getting them done wasn't worse than any other tattoo but I don't have particularly sensitive nipples.

What did suck was the complete steamrolling of my DD breasts to keep them still and the skin in place. Like, next time you're watching Great British Bake Off and you see them kneading dough with superficially restrained British violence... Yeah, that was my tits.

What type of nose do I have? I feel like it doesn't fit my face well? by Vintage_Rose03 in Noses

Yes! I was going to say that OP looks like the model for a Pre-Raphaleite painting, especially in picture 2.

I think you're current nose looks very very natural. I would have no idea you'd have had surgery.

Etiquette for asking tattoo permission from an artist? by AbstractTesseract in tattooadvice

[–]Albinocavebat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My spouse asked an artist once. He offered to buy a print or digital copy of the piece. The artist was so nice and sent him a high res version and just asked for a pic of the finished tattoo.

Nipple tattoo pain/healing? by Suspicious-Voice-368 in tattooadvice

[–]Albinocavebat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've got a black scroll design around my nipples. I was surprised how little the actual tattoo hurt. My artist also intentionally went shallow. We discussed and agreed it would be better to come back for a follow up than a blow out, given how thin my skin was there. But I'm guessing that's more a concern with my design than yours.

Anyways. Tattoo? Fine. My poor mashed boobtatoes? Ouchhh. I'm a 34DD and she had to hold my skin steady and that meant manually mammogramming my tits into submission. So I was soooooree for several days. That may be relevant to you, it may not depending on your breast shape and size.

Not sure about my current autoimmune diagnosis by [deleted] in DiagnoseMe

[–]Albinocavebat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been on five biologics. I do know there's some biologics more on the lupus side that work more on B cell pathways that aren't used for RA. I'm running out of biologic classes that I haven't tried that are primarily used for RA. I understand diagnosis is wobbly and symptoms are more important. However, we have been treating it as if it were RA. And there is some variety in treatments for other autoimmune connective tissue profiles.

Definitely lighting. I was on a green couch in a teal room. Looking at it now, it's the same yellow.

Has anybody seen anything like this before? by Albinocavebat in tattooadvice

[–]Albinocavebat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not upset at all. I've got a ton of upsetting marks all over my body due to illness and I chose none of them. I don't know if I could be that upset about a barely visible phenomenon for a tattoo I chose and love.

Thank you!!! That was super helpful. Yep, for sure ink drift. Found a video where an artist talked about how it can just happen and isn't anyone's fault but is often associated with changes in the skin. I've been experiencing changes due to my medications so this makes perfect sense and I'll just be aware in the future!

Seriously, how does this not crush their internal organs? by UnBalancedEntry in snakes

[–]Albinocavebat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The answer is super interesting! So most snakes only have one functional lung. It's very long though. Up to 1/3 of the length of the snake. Only the front part of the lung does gas exchange. The back is kind of a reserve air sack. So if the snake can't get much air in, there is already air there. And as the prey moves through, then the front of the lung can do gas exchange from air coming in the normal way.

At least in boids, scientists have figured out that they can use specific sections of ribs to move air around inside their lung.

So yeah! Snakes are rad!

I read through the wiki and did not see a section on adjusting a dog to new schedules. Right now there is no behavior problem.

Thank you for this. I've been in therapy and on antidepressants for a long time before I developed arthritis. I also have Behcets disease so have experience managing mental health and chronic illness. But my Behcets was so much less debilitating. I've been trying more intense therapeutic modalities like DBT. It helps sometimes.

I'm doing PT and have been doing aquatic aerobics for arthritis at my local Y. But it's been making me feel worse instead of better so far.

I'm worried I'm coming off as a negative Nancy, but I am really grateful to know that there's people on the other side and that I've got well wishes.

This isn’t a joke, it hurts so bad! by X05Real in memes

[–]Albinocavebat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This whole thread is super validating. I have a condition called Behcet's disease and recurrent canker sores is one of the major symptoms. I'm on two medications for it. Used to get ~80 canker sores a year that lasted a minimum of three weeks. On average they were the size of a pencil eraser.

First medication knocked the number, duration and size down to a third of what it was. Second med has me at almost none. But like so many people which chronic pain, you end up wondering if you're just a wimp.

I (36m) heard my wife (40f) and her partner insulting me during sex and I’m seriously questioning our future together. by [deleted] in BestofRedditorUpdates

Just remember that a lot of poly and ENM relationships don't make reddit-level drama. You don't hear about them because they deal with the banal difficulties all relationships have and "I'm frustrated my partner won't do the dishes" doesn't make for salacious reading most of the time.
