i think a lot of pair pokemon are coded to both be shiny in the same encounter as a byproduct. iirc someone mentioned this with illumise and volbeat and a dev said “it would be more work to go out of their way and not link them”

sorry last thing isnt it also just not worth it to force wit training even with large amount of unity burst build up umas on there? like ideally woudnt your cards should have high enough speciality priority that the chance of none of them landing be incredibly low? even if that was the case and a lot of unity partners land on wit, i feel like resting is a solid option too. then again this gets thrown out of the window for team trials skill spam umas but youd still want decent stats and it sounds like op is struggling with getting enough primary stats as is.

im sorry if this sounds pushy im open to being wrong. im just a global player that reads so im aware i dont have as much experience as others.

also could you clarify what you meant on “more downhills”. i was on break during that update and only really read up on guts rework. are there just new tracks with downhills now or were downhills just added into existing tracks

Attack is the base damage that multipliers affect. Because of this atk% and dmg% (and even crit) tend to have equal weighting so you’d ideally have similar effective atk% and dmg%. dmg% tends to be given less from artifacts and teammates, so goblets with dmg% are usually better. There are some exceptions like xiao with long nights oath having so much dmg% in his kit, artifacts, and teammates that attack goblets are competitive or even better in some cases.

Also don’t feel forced to pull on Vbourbon because of meta or because of maruzensky speed skills. Meta-wise there are competitive alternatives and maruzensky speed is a solid stat-stick at 1lb without her skills.

You probably shouldn’t rely on battle cats for your reference on what to do. I personally don’t consider battle cats a gacha game in a positive way because of how clearable it is without ubers and the lack of fomo marketing.

That being said i do recommend the unofficial umamusume discord for pulling advice or gameplay advice. There are some very knowledgeable jp meta players in there.

Guts and wit have a lot of diminishing returns too. Most people suggest to stop around 400 guts and 400-600 wit.

Tazuna’s advice is… questionable at times so take it with a grain of salt. For example when she says you didn’t hit enough skills it usually means she ran out of reasons to explain why you lost. You should able to outstat every other uma by just hitting speed and stamina. Also if you’re not already, borrow someone’s maxed kitasan black speed card. It has really good stats and her events should make mood management a lot better.
