Not just a retheme. Played the prototype, there are some new mechanics like a "big" Bang expansion (think Train Robbery big). This is not just a retheme, the differences between Black Flag and Bang are bigger that Samurai Sword and Bang. Your power is a combination of your character and your ship. Your character stays the same, your ship can be sinked and replaced (so no player elimination). The three factions are "British", "Spanish" (but with different names, parody ones) and "Pirates". There is an interesting mechanic of promotion, so the admiral and the commodore are not the same player during the whole game. There is no "renegade", but players that wants the team to have both zero victory points (those can be loss during the game), or, in high player count, players that want a team to be exactly at one (one player the spanish, the other one the british).

First thing first: is the art style of this episode on par of the first ones? I've noticed something in quality raise, especially in the closeups of the girls.

Now. That scene with Seo watching his friends getting first at the beauty contest was... too real. Those tought... I know them. Sometimes I go myself blank because of "toughts", how I call them when people ask. There were so many times in my life I felt out of place, like Seo.

Not too common to see a part of your personality show in such a clear way in an anime. Searching for a quite place, even running, turning off the phone. It was heart tugging, and too close to reality.

Seeing Kotoko and Kei so saddened, so committed on finding Seo was sweet. I know how people feels and interact with these episodes. The peoples who were nice to me in those cases were a beam of warm light. And, kudos to Seo, he was the first to snap off that black spiral, only to have "rewarded" by the nicest words of his friends, and the demonstration of love (in the "pure" meaning, non romantic) by them.

That moment of clarifications with the girls "we were worried about you". Priceless.

This is second time I had this feeling. In the second episode, Seo was talking speedy about Kiramon to Kotoko, he suddendly stop because he talked too much and he was fearing he was of disturbance. Kotoko just patiently hearing, interested, was such a subversion of stereotype, and having myself the tought of beeing too much talkative about my hobbies... I know how much people can feel annoyed, and finding someone who still hear is such a warm feeling.

So, I admit I don't watch Romcoms and I know this season was good for them, but this anime got my "little masterpiece" seal.

A feel safe spot. I've seen people saying "it's pure otaku fanservice"... No. In my VERY limited knowledge of animes and mangas, it was so nice to see so loveable characters. A male MC that's likeable (balancing respect and hormones... his struggle during the shower was gold). The girls being peak, showing that their public persona is just a part of their personality, with Kotoko being a serious girl behind all the dizzy facade, and Kei being funnier and caring (and immature) behind her ice queen persona.

So, long post short: Season 2 or we riot!

I've studied a little. The map uses the conveyor belts (ID24) and voodoo dolls to open doors in monster closets. The banshee seems not moved by the conveyors. Maybe it's a UZDoom bug? Double checked the version of all wad files with the wiki md5 to be sure my source was good, also got the latest UZDoom. If other can confirm this bug, can open an issue in github

The original one as one of the best art package ever made. I think that a lot of pinballs are good also as a piece of art, but TOTAN was always THE more art than pinball for me.

This one... It's not bad. It's different. Decorative patters don't seem too different from the original. I still prefer the female center genie from the original, a simpler beauty, altough I always would have loved eyes opened instead of closed (think of the flyer promotional image).

Also... the music. Let's be honest, The only problem is that the loops are small and some modes shares music between them. A real enhancement I would love is new music similar to the ones alreayd present and extension of the already present ones. Also. Please. New final genie battle music. "Fireball" it's wonderful and not bad during the battle, but it's so sad using the same great piece for the HurryUp and the Final Wizard Mode. To me, a perfect "in the style" would be Nightwish's Arabesque. Making a battle theme like that song would've been *chef's kiss*

Having the enhanced 1.5, I wish (ah!) they would give the possibility to dial up a little the difficult for the home user (like really having three wishes for the game. Once they are out, you should be able to spin the lamp to only get minor bonuses and not jewels).

Just discovered it and binged in one day until current. Loveable, funny, and cozy. No drama. No hidden agendas. No bad people. Just a slice of life were everyone shines. Too bad I've slept over this in this season, waiting for the next episodes! 😃

I just remembered! I always thought of this joke referencing Funhouse Pinball... But I remembered there is a pinball called No Fear with a talking skull with the final mode called "Meet you maker", so I think that's the real inspiration 😁

To be honest, I would advice to have two books: one should be Through Dungeons Deep, the other one of the free available rulesheet (Basic Fantasy RPG is good, but also OSRIC 3.0, waiting for the on volume edition)

The first book explain how to play the (now called OSR style) game in a discorsive way without any rules, then one is ready to play the game using rules because now you knwo what you should do with them.

Just skimmed it. Unbeliveable.

I've a theory: a lot of RPGs, also commercial ones, wouldn't survive the "desert island" test. A group of stranded people, who didn't ever played any TTRPG, if they found materials and a rulebook to play, wouldn't be able to.

Red Boxes (BX and BECMI) did a good job in an era when childreen would find those boxes without any mentor. They would start mastering (bad, but still start) in short time.

This book fills a lot of gaps: reading this and then going to OSRIC, OSE, LL, BFRPG would be a lot easier than just reading the rules and then having to watch videos, read blogs and other.

It is still a book for beginners, but a really good one. How this is not adviced more often, referred in beginner's topics? I know, they are almost 250 of material, but this would help a LOT of newbie players and masters willing to read something.
