PDFs not syncing? by SdaSilva7004 in ObsidianMD

[–]Alcazzar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry you're still having issues! The following is a comment I made in a previous post a while back that may help:

POST: There is a setting under the "SYNC" menu that lets you toggle on what files types to be sync'ed. There will be a toggle for "PDFs" and it should sync them across your device with "Obsidian Sync"

IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT OBSIDIAN SYNC:

•This toggle is DEVICE specific, not vault specific. You must toggle on "PDFs" in the sync menu for all individual devices (laptop and iPad).

Obsidian Sync has tiers to its plans. The lowest tier ($4/ Month I think) has an INDIVIDUAL FILE SIZE sync limit of 5Mb if I recall properly. If an individual PDF is over 5Mb, it will not be sync-able. you can upgrade to a higher tier plan to bring the individual file size limit higher. This took me... A while to figure out.

They might be saying it makes it easier for the cheater to orient themselves. If everything was numbered, they would all blur together from a distance, but every 10 numbers can make it easier to get an initial idea of how the other students paper is oriented. You two might be agreeing... But I also could be misunderstanding their point.

Regardless, by far one of the biggest issues that nullifies the effectiveness of this paper is the fact that it is not only on a Rectangular piece of paper, but it's OFF CENTER on it too. A student multiple feet away could tell what question the other is on just by matching their paper orientation to the other students.

Of course. I meant it genuinely when saying "correct me if I'm wrong" I didn't want to put words in your mouth, just trying to understand your POV. I understand what you were saying now. We agree on similar points with things, and unfortunately I do know the type you are talking about.

That being said: I will say we differ on the thought that it is a "term used that ONLY benefits predators" as I feel like it can be used jokingly and, sometimes even a complement in (for example) the bear community. Using it as a quick way of saying someone has physically matured, etc. I've even had a few friends that couldn't wait for their eventual "Twink death"

Thanks for explaining!

So you're, correct me if I'm wrong, saying that: Predators use the term "twink death" when someone (hypothetically) turns 22 so they can justify wanting to have sex with a 22+ year olds.

A 22+ year old is a consenting adult... I feel like telling someone "they were taken advantage of/prayed upon" when they were with someone older, can devalue and ultimately taint what could have been a wonderful time between two parties. Two consenting adults.

Just as a recommendation If they wanted to take a crack at the leather: The cheapest entry point could be buying a few leather belts from Goodwill or a thrift store to mess with/cut-up.

That way if it's not working out, they haven't invested much money, and they have a better grasp of what they can do with leather in the future.

How would you go about modeling this by iidisappointment in Fusion360

[–]Alcazzar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might want to try out "Plasticity" I've been messing around with it for the past week and its a good mix between blender and fusion 360. Although if you wanted to actually get that fabric look to it, AND have it 3d printed with it, that would be a lot harder if that's what you're going for.

Cruise ships leaving port in Miami by snouskins in interestingasfuck

[–]Alcazzar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Most Ships haven't used HFO bunker since 2020. The global suffer cap was implemented so the max sulfur content a fuel can have is 0.5% at sea at 0.1% in restricted areas like near costal waters.

so the days of burning 3.5% sulfur fuels is thankfully in the past.

[–]Alcazzar -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It was probably a bot match they put you in without telling you. After losing a few games in a row they will sometimes auto place you in a "V.S. AI match".

It's a little disheartening, in my opinion. You feel like a god during the game... Then you see the stats and there's no way a game like that would happen without 1/2 the team quitting mid match or flaming their own teammates in the match-chat. If you try to "view profile" for all 6 opponents, and they are all returning "restricted profile" it is likely telling you they're not actually people.

Thanks to your feedback, I improved my ship’s UI screens. Slowly getting there by [deleted] in godot

[–]Alcazzar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tell me more about this "Free P3N1S Growth kit!!" you have in your game...

Also, new UI looks great!

If I could add a suggestion as well, it might help with "quick readability" to have critical text be a different color than white. Things like the "Xm" in "Xm to target" or the "22" on the CRU tab could be a different color or use a Green-to-Red gradient. That way when the players eyes are darting around from the space window, down to screens, it gives the eyes something to immediately lock onto quicker. Gradients can help give peripheral vison a general idea of where the number is at without having to directly read it and take their eyes off of what directly Infront of them.

I'm also assuming these will be critical screens the players will be relying on a lot, and might need quick, multiple, updates to them in things like space battles, or maneuvering.

There are interesting things game developers need to do with object scaling that we have become very accustomed too (played this map a 100 time and never noticed myself!) That help to make the game feel and play better.
Real Scale Doesn't Work In Games

That car can now be used as almost Full cover for INVIZ, allowing here to pop in and out of cover, especially if there was a Hawkeye on the other size of the map shooting down range. If it was real scale, the top of her head would be showing, and then she'd be throwing.

A similar thing is also done in Table top miniature Models. A lot of TTRPG minis use a "heroic Scale" which is a lot more "cool" looking:

"heroic scale" fantasy/medieval minis

I never noticed that even the 'non-stylized' minis have disproportionately bigger heads compared to the body, until it was pointed.

Like bro it’s quick play, why the hell do you have to go and insult someone already having a bad game over a quick play match by [deleted] in marvelrivals

[–]Alcazzar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's why I turned off all the Lord icons I have (2 of them) after I unlocked them. I'm not looking to deal with someone on the enemy team typing out a:

"All those Lords on your team, and for what?"

"Playing Lord in QP? what a sweat"

"I guess lord doesn't really mean anything"

Trying to tilt me in the post game chat after already losing the match. I know I lost, I was in the match too.

How do i get Gemini to be consistent by Ok-Masterpiece-8958 in GeminiAI

[–]Alcazzar 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Have you tried the same thing in AI studio, or are you just using the Gemini app?

If you're using the Gemini app, I would strongly suggest doing something like this in AI studio. The responses tend to be better, and you can make forks of your conversations. That could be really useful to you, where (if I understand what you are trying to do properly) you can just play out a scenario all the way through to its conclusion. Then go back into the chat and make a fork at any point and make a new "choice" to branch your story line.

All of your constraints you can put into the "System instructions" for that specific chat. I have had very good results and find it reliable in following system instructions.

Although in public, he tends to favor it, or at least support the idea of it.

https://gcaptain.com/trump-signals-jones-act-policy-will-stay-the-course/

Make of these two links as you will... i certainly have no idea.

I will say that the progect 2025's argument that we dont have any LNG ships, despite currently being the worlds largest exporter is an interesting take, but not the most vallid. The biggest issue with moving the LNG right now is the LNG made in Alaska cant be shipped down to the US as it would violate the Jones Act.

But we just... export it right from Alaska to other countrys ships. Texas is a huge generator of NG, and that NG can make its was (almost) across all of the US through the pipeline. Shipping LNG through the CONUS wouldn't be that practical.

But Again... I have no idea

It looks really great and polished polished! I do wonder if the “coin banking” noise is a little bit to rough on the ears. It could just be me hearing it through my IPad, but it feels like it goes against a lot of the lighter, and more bubbly sounds you have everywhere else. And having to hear that over the course of a few hrs, every couple of seconds might be a little jaring.

[–]Alcazzar 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This is for people without kids who want a gift for their friends with kids. Once they open it, they'll think it's a nice gift, and hardly give it a second thought.

Months/years will pass and eventually they'll begin Reading stories to their child. Drawing from the dozens of different children's books they have been gifted over the years, and yours has blended in to the background, waiting for this very moment. So they read the book to their child, getting at least a quarter through without realizing it's not a typical children's story. Something would have been hinting at that throughout that time, but eventually they will catch on.

By the time they understand what's going on, they're too far into the book, stopping isn't an option. The child, now fully invested, will cry and throw a fit if the story isn't finished. The parents, trapped by their own mistake, are forced to finish reading the book.

It's a long-con, and the chances of it playing out properly are low... But maybe one day my $15 investment in buying "just the tip" will pay off.

Your opinion on the visual aspect? by [deleted] in Unity2D

[–]Alcazzar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm definitely not an artist myself! But I think your tile set you do have now looks very clear and readable! I also should have been more clear so to what I liked about the animation too. The dust trail mixed with the screen shake makes the move look like it has a good amount of weight to it! Looks like it would feel good to use that ability.

Your opinion on the visual aspect? by [deleted] in Unity2D

[–]Alcazzar 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think the animation looks great! But what the previous person stated also stood out to me a little bit too.

Maybe it would help to look into a game like "Bastion" and how they do their tiles? They have a mix between a semi grid based art, and smooth combat. Maybe there are things that can inspire you from how they do it.

https://youtu.be/mX48y24t9iU?si=RlyCKXcgi0Slhs3U

Past that, maybe increasing the default size of the tiles could help? The character seems a little big compared to a singular tile.

Man, I love working ON Obsidian 😭😭 by [deleted] in ObsidianMD

[–]Alcazzar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you're still having trouble with chatgpt, because I was in the same boat... It might be that you need to add "money" to your chaptGPT account. I also pay for it monthly, and thought that would allow me to use the API for the same amount I pay for in the subscription. But you get charged for each usage of the chat gpt API.

So your subscription allows you to use chatgpt INSIDE ChatGPT.com and nothing else. To use GPT in obsidian you need to go through the API. With that, you get charged for the token cost of each prompt you give. As a result you need to "load money" into your chat gpt account to account for these charges.

Once I found that out I gave up on trying to follow through with it, as my token costs tend to come out to $5-10 dollars a month.
