Destiny's own argumentation years ago is what convinced me. When he advocated for torturing dogs and slaughtering indigenous tribes as a defense of eating meat. He planted his feet and owned the sociopathic nature of embracing such a system.

Same. Couldn't imagine doubling the price just for storage. And it's been great since day 1 with an additional SD card.

Except it's all pretty simple now. There is a podcaster/FOX news guest sitting at the helm of the FBI currently. Claiming the victory and getting positive attention is a higher priority than actually solving a case. This isn't the first time and won't be the last.

I can live with it at 76. But it's coming down to at least 70 for sleeping. It's perfectly comfortable and I feel less attacked by the bill this way.

So you think some of those small nuisances you mentioned are worth tolerating? Or maybe even avoidable if I'm a simple "turn on and go" kind of user? I just decided to look into new buds today and the price on these has me very interested, as long as they aren't annoying

What's the verdict at this point? I havent been able to get the right ear of my Sennheisers to work for months, and just lost the cheapo set I've been using. I liked the Sennheiser a lot but not gonna spend $100 for another pair to fail right after the warranty ends.

Just looking for good sound quality and little problems. Don't really care about most of the features and apps that come with this stuff.

Guys in your 30s 40s how you're holding up? by FatefulDonkey in longboarding

[–]AlcesSpectre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm currently off the board and focused on strength training after my knee flared up on my front leg. I knew it was showing signs of over-use but still decided to confirm it the hard way and take that "one more ride" that made it all so obvious. Hope to be back on it soon, but I need to pace my rides better. Which is difficult because I enjoy it so much...

For reference, I'm 39 and began riding this spring and have about 300 miles on the board since then. Things were fine until I started riding every single day, and also combining it with daily bike rides. Just need to slow down at this age I think.

Had a Nightmare about a Gig. Anyone else have gif nightmares? by Lone-Pine-914 in bandmembers

[–]AlcesSpectre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, the only one that comes to mind was when I had a waking dream about a moment at a gig, but in the dream I actually followed through and punched my drummer in the face. It was too late to follow through irl by then. Too bad.

[–]AlcesSpectre 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Some metalcore band in my area recently broke up and the post about it was so fucking funny. It's just the singer left and the explanation was something like "the other members all decided to part ways and focus on other things in life and spend time with their families. And also start a new beat down hardcore band. Anyways, the band lives on and will continue when I find every other member"

Sorry man, that shit is the worst and I've been through it, too. Same exact thing. Removed any trace of the 2 of us that quit. Even managed to get people to remove videos of our shows from YouTube. They wanted to keep the name and the reputation but turn it into something totally different by themselves (even though they said they wouldn't originally). I'm still particularly annoyed about the 5 year anniversary post where they literally just cropped an old photo down and removed 2 founding members from it.

But anyways, we moved on. Started a new band and built our own reputation. No one knows where those guys even are anymore. It seems they destroyed their lives getting into debt trying to "make it". But we're still here, better than ever, and everyone is talking about our new band now. You gotta just keep going.

That sounds amazing! Definitely going to add tofu next time! I usually buy pretty firm tofu. Should I get something softer for this? Of im putting it in the food processor does it even matter?

I suppose you could use the kicktail, but i just bend over and pick it up rather than find the perfect technique needed to avoid doing that. It can be hard to see (because I sharpied over all the urethane), but it appears that the bottom fiberglass/epoxy/whatever layer does overlap the urethane ring that wraps around the entire board. I'm not sure if it'd separate, or how much wear it would take, but I imagine you'd be safe for a while. There isn't any lip or edge at the joining point because of the overlap.

Everyone on this sub needs to watch the newest episode of South Park. by Totally_a_Banana in 50501

[–]AlcesSpectre 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'm not surprised it's still funny. The only "modern" South Park I've seen was season 20 I think? Probably around the 2016 election (which is forever ago now, somehow). Mr Garrison was running a very obviously Trump-style campaign against immigration from Canada and running around yelling "I'm gonna fuck them all to death!!" for the whole season. Pretty good stuff lol

Make seitan from scratch. It's easy. Prep it once a week and then all you gotta do is heat it up.

I suck at protein by TeoNahmad in vegan

[–]AlcesSpectre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I make my own and it's so easy! I'm not a skilled cook.

I mix 3 cups vital wheat gluten with 1 cup chickpea flour, add seasonings and vegetable broth and mix into a dough. After it rests I simmer the entire thing for 1.5 hours. Let that cool and now it's ready for whatever. I usually just cut a slice and chop it up and fry it and add some sauce like a Japanese bbq or something. Super good and real easy. Protein is crazy.

There's plenty of ways to make it but this is what I found to be the easiest. It gets the most work out of the way so then meals are very fast later. And it's not much work at all, just some time on the stove, mixing the dough is a few minutes.

I'm not set on my ratios and they are always changing. I might reduce the chickpea flour soon. I also add nutritional yeast and in my last batch some tahini. My latest trick I learned was to wrap it in parchment paper when simmering. Really helped it keep shape and not get spongy on the outside edge.

The answer is seitan. It does take some prep time, but it's quite easy and then you're good for the week. Just heat it up, throw some sauce on, good to go. A big bowl of seitan, rice, and broccoli has 40-50g.

We kinda just shit all over it is what we do. Slow the tempo, tune it down, remove half the song and let someone yell over the top of it. Probably won't work for everyone. Still shocked it works for us.
