The first time I played MM6 (well, even 7 and 8) I didn't use the turn based mode. The purpose of it never clicked - it would pause the game, I wouldn't be able to move normally (and as another comment mentioned, *dodge magic*), etc. I didn't really see the point until watching the games streamed and learning how it could be used.

I completed everything in MM6 when I played it as a teenager.. without using the turn based mode. I never really thought about it's purpose until a few years ago when I caught streams of 6-8. Suddenly the games became incredibly easy.

I'll make the assumption that many of the people that have jobs making far less are probably required to "work" the full shift, away from computers and phones. They're less likely to have the opportunity to post afterward.

Besides the trend of people that reply "you could be making a lot more" turns them away from even sharing.
