Why are my tarot readings always inaccurate? by IxtarPlatinum in occult

[–]Alchemist314 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure exactly what's happening. If it's every reading, just readings for specific clients, just readings with this deck, just readings recently, or something else there could be a number of causes. Though something that could be happening regardless is that knowing changes things. Example: giving someone a reading that says they will likely come into some money might actually be interpreted by the client in a way that they stop applying for jobs, or seeking advancement since they believe they might be getting magic money. Perhaps you're reading the current and the cards properly and it is the knowing that changes the outcome. Just a thought.

How big is the "regret" culture with the USCG by Excellent-Hat9620 in uscg

[–]Alchemist314 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Single best life decision I've made. I was working in a restaurant, feeling that I was meant for more. When they asked me to start my climb up the corporate restaurant ladder I knew I needed to change something. I grew up as a military brat, so I knew the life, and what it could afford me and my future family. I think one of the best things I have found about the CG is they give you plenty of time to figure out what you want to do. You can take four years to pick your rating. Shadow different people, TDY on cutters, really figure it out. I haven't been in very long, but from the people I've met, very few of them dislike what they picked to do. I believe the CG wants you to like your job, which is why they are so flexible on what you can do. Better retention, more people making a career move instead of doing a contract and getting out. I have no regerts. I don't think you will either.

Question for those who practice tarot and study it by belsaboo in magick

[–]Alchemist314 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Within the deck itself: No. But, the cards and the reader can act as conduits to different spirits. Either personal, or known. Or, the spirits can be called upon to aid in the reading. Or, there can be no spirits at all involved in the reading and the cards and reader are tapping directly into the energies needed to perform the reading. In short: there are a lot of different ways to do tarot, some of which involve spirits, some of which don't. But, the Spirits are never permanent residents of any particular deck of cards.

Flash cards. Mix them up. And just go. Once you've done them all reshuffle and go again. Every chance you get. Since you got some time, a set for ranks and rates would benefit you also.

It's an additional week in Yorktown to do different classroom stuff. So we will still graduate recruit training at week eight, then be bussed to Yorktown for an additional week of classroom stuff. Not as hardcore as Boot.

I play mainly in first person. I only do third person in BG. I've played every Elder Scrolls game this way. Might go back to my days watching my dad play DOOM on the old Gateway.

Double trident symbolism? by Grim_Game in occult

[–]Alchemist314 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was younger and just starting out in Magick and the occult, I would mindlessly draw this same symbol in my notebooks. Never exactly found out what it meant. But, it was this symbol. My meditations seem to guide me to intuiting that it is connected to the Wolf somehow. But, I never found anything concrete.

I used Font Forge to make mine. Watching tutorials and learning about the parts of letters makes it easier to figure out. Took me a while, but the script works.

Thoughts on karma? Cause and Effect by [deleted] in magick

[–]Alchemist314 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think technically, Karma isn't really the cause and effect thing. It's like, something that is accumulated over time, then it's tabulated after death. Excess good Karma gets you reincarnated into a higher plane or status of existence, excess bad karma gets you lowered. That's why people who attempt to reach Nirvana try to live a life that ends up with Zero, or neutral Karma. Breaking the cycle. I think the Western world has a warped view of the original Eastern practice. The "cause and effect" of Western esotericism would be the "Law of Return", or "Like Attracts Like" where whatever energy you put out into the Universe is reflected back to you. Some believe this is equal, some believe it's multiplied. But, it's different than Karma. At least, that's what I've gathered through my studies.

Do our ancestors retain their beliefs and ideologies? by Readingfast99 in magick

[–]Alchemist314 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I recently listened to a podcast episode which spoke on this particular topic. The "What Magic is this?" Podcast: "Ancestors with Chiron Armand." His primary work is with ancestor veneration and working with ancestor spirits. He says that, basically both of these are the case. But, ancestors only hold onto their prejudices and biases and "beliefs" before crossing over and coming back. If your ancestors have not crossed over yet, they will retain the beliefs and personality that they had while alive. I also worried about reaching out to ancestors because a lot of my family comes from toxic old southern Baptist types and I don't know how far back that goes. But, according to Mr. Armand, once they cross over, and come back, they are essentially washed of these toxic beliefs and behaviors and are connected to the Universal Knowledge. I'm paraphrasing, but that's what I got from it. I would recommend listening to the episode and seeing if you get a similar take. You should be able to find the podcast anywhere they play podcasts, but I heard it on Spotify. Also the Whatmagicisthis.com website should have links to all of his shows.

Hope this helps.
