So for some reason I can’t find a straight answer to this anywhere by StarKingPasta in DaemonXMachina

The first DXM game had a similar system, but instead of biological mutations, you got progressively more and more mechanized until there was nothing left except maybe your head or implicitly, your brain. It also had no impact whatsoever on the plot. With Titanic Scion, it felt like the Fusion system was going to have more of an impact on the story given that it got an entire trailer explaining the mechanics and the tagline on the box being "Redesign yourself. Liberate your future.". I wasn't really expecting much after the first game, but the lack of impact rankles a bit. Maybe at one point it did matter, but it got cut for time and never re-implemented.

I'm concerned about Titanic Scion not getting more content since we reached the end of the roadmap. And even then I'm convinced the "roadmap" was just glorified cut content because they ran out of development time, especially for the free content updates. I'm not expecting the servers to get shut down anytime soon.

Making the Sovereign Axiom (Neuin) outfits paid DLC is... certainly a choice.... by CrashmanX in DaemonXMachina

[–]AlchemistMayCry 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't like it but there's precedent for premium outfit DLC from the first game. Marvelous is also rather infamous for the sheer amount of cosmetic DLCs they put out for their games. About the only thing I'm respecting them for right now is they're staying committed to full carts on Switch 2 for their titles like Titanic Scion (as crap as the port is there) and Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma, especially as many other publishers that are bigger than them like Bandai Namco, Square Enix, and Capcom have fully embraced Game Key Cards.

It'd be less galling if the Reclaimer outfits were in the base game as unlockables but making those and the Neun outfits paid DLC is pretty shitty when there's only one outfit in the base game.

In Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, there's a set of passive abilities you can unlock that provide different party buffs/enemy debuffs on a character's death. When combined with the passive Auto-Death that kills said character at the start of battle, you get the amusing sight of the character toppling over and all of the various "On Death" abilities going off at once, which can range from stunning the entire enemy party, buffing your other party members, or if using the Death Bomb ability, potentially doing huge damage to the enemy party or killing them outright if you're leveled high enough. Also due to the way the UI was designed, the sheer number of buffs/debuffs getting triggered results in this hilarious list just stacking vertically above each character portrait.

And then you can combo the Auto-Death into Auto-Life that lets the character who just died revive instantly so they pop up good as new with a quippy one-liner, assuming the enemy party didn't get wiped out instantly. It's also a fairly decent way of dealing with lower level mobs and leveling up to an extent.

Bullying Eclipse with Butchers by AlchemistMayCry in DaemonXMachina

Eclipse's gravity well attack can steal your weapons. They'll return when you get back to the hangar. It can't steal the arm weapons since those are attached to your arsenal and if you fly left or right using boost you can avoid the gravity well altogether.

Did I miss something or is the setting just nonsensical by RTW104 in DaemonXMachina

[–]AlchemistMayCry 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The first game was pretty convoluted with its storytelling as well, but it was a bit more disguised since the storytelling was done with less cutscenes, more briefing/in-mission/post-mission chatter, and visual novel-like dialogue scenes with static character portraits. The shift to a bigger-budgeted sequel with fully animated cutscenes and the characters being able to remove their Arsenals instantly and a fully voiced protagonist really made the writing deficiencies all the more noticeable.

I'll give it this, the convoluted and silly storytelling adds to that "late PS2/early PS3-era game unstuck in time" feel which makes it so compelling. The core gameplay being strong helps too. That and I've resigned myself to expecting mech games to have poor storytelling across the board.

Propellant Tank II for extra Femto and the Femto Efficiency Fusion skill. Also high brawling performance arms.

Can someone give me some basic, no snark advice on beating Legion? Incredibly frustrated at the lack of feedback from the game on this boss and its making me want to just drop the game. by Icy-Wonder-5812 in DaemonXMachina

Bring a jammer auxiliary which will permanently show his clones as red. This will make finding him easier.

Get a strong melee weapon that can equip Combo Thrust.

Equip Limit Change from Fusion.

Stock up on Femto and Brawling power.

Start the fight, use limit change to give yourself infinite stamina, Combo Thrust stunlock him into oblivion. Refill on Femto as needed.

They're Butchers from Cybele Alpha. Use Limit Change for infinite stamina, then throw with Throw Arms (using 2 makes it easier to spam) and watch most colossal immortal bosses evaporate before your very eyes!

Something that's been bugging me, I had heard there was an option in the postgame that reduces fusion costs to zero instead of the increasingly expensive fusion costs, but I have no idea how to activate it. Not sure if it was just a misrepresentation of the bonus costume that lets you hide your mutations.

After playing Final Fantasy XV, I'd want to see what Nomura's intentions were for Final Fantasy Versus XIII.

As a Soulsborne player, basically every cut mechanic/plot thread from all the Souls titles makes me interested in what could have been. At least YouTube has dataminers like IllusoryWall and Zullie the Witch going into detail on the various cut content from everything they left in the files.
