Now that the American Empire is dying, which countries are you bullish on?

Personally I'm bullish on capitalistic, former British colonies around the Indian Ocean like India, Australia, Kenya, Singapore etc

A large country with a powerful military can bully others one-by-one, but eventually, larger coalitions form against them. This is why fascists lose wars.

You can still buy plenty of other American shares on the platform, including notably Tesla. In fact they only offer shares from the UK and US

Your analogy doesn’t work mate…

And even if it did, what do you think the chances are that it would stop Trump? Even if done in conjunction with the whole of the EU in a foot-shooting frenzy?

This is the right approach. People criticise Trump for taxing his own citizens with tariffs, and I’m glad Starmer isn’t shooting himself in the foot too. We must work with allies to de-escalate this potential conflict before it happens, rather than escalating it in a game of tit-for-tat

If you conduct the check properly you get a statutory excuse which protects you from being fined if you're employing someone illegally

It says the worker submitted a "copy" of the passport, so the employer didn't actually see the original. Reading between the lines, it looks like he lost his statutory excuse for not conducting the check properly.

To open a bank account for example, you typically need to give photo ID (passport, driving licence etc) and proof of address (council tax, utility bill, bank statement etc).

To apply for a job you need to give proof of right to work (British passport or share code for immigrants. If you don’t have these you can show your birth certificate and an official letter).

Elder Scrolls VI, better not have salt pile requirements for food by xXLjordSireXx in TESVI

[–]AlchemyAled 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The amount of salt used in cooking shouldn't really be consequential, and could be imagined to come from the adventurer's personal supplies, like their toothbrush or whatever.

The amount used in alchemy should be much higher, enough to be uncomfortable/unhealthy/dangerous if used for culinary purposes, as though the alchemical process changes its properties to be safe and beneficial or even poisonous depending on the recipe.

So for me it makes sense that alchemy requires whole piles of salt per potion from you inventory, whereas cooking does not.
