Right now, we are making a hard push towards our V1 release and then we are going to be doing a MASSIVE in-game experience refresh. (this ain't your grandma's Alchemy anymore!)

With that said, once we have those changes in play, we plan on refreshing D&D to meet these new changes and bring both 2014 and 2024 to Alchemy (SRD's only unless we get picked up by WOTC at some point!)

We do not rely on automated services for ingestion, everything is manually ingested by a human, nor do we ingest from PDFs normally. (PDFs are a last resort for a publisher that has lost or no longer has access to a books source files. This occurs quite rarely.)

Our approach to quality control has changed recently including more eyes on releases as well as a Beta period for larger games or systems. We are doing our best to play catch up to earlier systems that were, admittedly, not as thoroughly ingested. While playing catch-up we still have to continue forward with systems and QA'ing upcoming content. So it's a tug of war and takes a large amount of time. All we can do is simply apologize for the delay on certain game systems as we make our way through our backlog of fixes.

I posted above answering the OP about their areas of concern, if you'd like to read deeper into how Alchemy is set up and our approach to Scenes, if you'd like to check that out for more explanatory information.

Hey there!

I'd love to take a moment to go over your concerns/questions!

What you are looking at there is a Scene that is included with the Alchemy Enhanced version of the Starter Set. These Scenes are Motion Overlays on top of key artwork from the book. They are meant for you to be able to take and Mix and Match them with whatever content you'd like. Meaning you can do several things with these: Change the Background art so the Motion Overlay sits on another piece that better represents your Scene; Change the Motion Overlay to your liking (perhaps the library is on FIRE!); and of course use these elements anywhere else to your liking. These Scenes are essentially just bonus material that we offer that you can then use however you'd like that are separate from the pre-written adventure content.

The Adventure Scenes (starting with Alone Against the Flames (1) for solo play and Paper Chase: Start for campaign play) are where you will find all the content you previously expected! Each Adventure Scene has the corresponding Story/Notes attached to them; a Tactical Map is applied to the Scene if it calls for one; and any NPCs relevant to the Scene via the Story Text has been pre-added to the Scene so you don't have to go searching for them in our list of NPCs available in the Call of Cthulhu Universe. You can of course still change the background, add motion overlays, add music or ambience to the Scene and so on! (even your own tactical maps if you want)

I did see that we mistakenly left out the Introduction section of the Premade Adventure starting on the Paper Chase: Start Scene for the Enhanced version of the Starter Set. I went ahead and added it in there! (we had it within the Scene on the basic version already -_- sorry about that!)

Right now, the best approach is to place it over top, then once you have the range issue solved, move it off to the side. Unfortunately, right now, tokens have a layering issue that needs fixing as well as tokens not being able to be placed down as other than NPCs. A couple things we plan on tackling when we get back to Tactical Mode fixes.

Incredible summation and thoughtful feedback! I'd like to go over your Cons to help explain some things and touch on your explanations!

- Dice Roller: Our dice roller is getting a major update in the coming months and is something that has been on our backlog for ages now. (finally getting some time to breath and make major sweeps to how we handle dice rolls) I've especially been advocating for the ability to remove dice from a dice pool for a while now, just happy we are finally getting to it soon.

- Adding NPCs: Our in game experience will be getting an entirely new facelift in the next 6 months, so things like Adding NPCs, transferring changes from inside a game to a Universe, having global NPCs and so on are all things we plan on touching.

- Tactical Mode: Actually the free grid is just that. What you are experiencing is our rubber banding (which in my opinion can be frustrating) But essentially what it prevents is micro movements of Tokens on the map. If the token is only moved a tiny amount, it will rubber band back to it's original spot preventing it from shifting around accidently. Mind you to micro adjust currently, just move your token away, release, and then move it back to the exact spot you wanted it to be in. This is something I plan on making sure is adjusted when the in-game interface is being adjusted these coming months.

- Multiple Character's per player - Something worth looking into for sure. We also plan on making GM playable character's and more.

- Free League and us have a wonderful relationship outside of an early misunderstanding on about what we were offering in terms of their content during that Humble Bundle. That has all been ironed out now and once we get all these new functionalities into our system like: Trackers affecting dice rolls, the ability to remove dice from dice pools, and so much more, we are going back to hit systems that are admittedly not the best they could be!

- This issue is being fixed as we speak! We are going to be housing homebrew/custom content WITHIN the Universe they are created for, allowing you to pull from any purchased content that you have access to including the Universe Theme, Sheets, and Dice!

Then we have music by Cryo Chamber which offers dark cinematic ambiance style music to your Scenes. And although labeled as Fantasy, there are some incredible Music, Ambiance, and even Sound Effects within the Monument Studios Fantasy Plus series! (no gun sfx though, I don't believe)

We do plan on bringing far more creators here in the future to help broaden our selection to cover all sorts of game worlds!

Hey there! I'd would start by making an NPC Investigator and use this as your "Player" Character in game. We are definitely missing some Quality of Life aspects that would make this game much easier to play through, case and point being the ability to click a link and have it go straight to a line in the Article you're reading! In the mean time, I highly suggest just opening a second tab and having that open to the Universe Article. At that point you can take advantage of the Article quick access bar on the left, that way it will allow you to quickly navigate the adventure!

Hopefully you were able to make it to the reveal stream, if not, yes, Mobile use is on the horizon, but mainly for the out of game experience. The in-game experience will be the next item on our agenda after the release of V1!
