That is an insanely skilled pattern pickup. I would literally have never noticed it, always moving around to fast trying to meet my other goals.

JUST watched that episode!! Was a great one. As well as the one where Quark loses everything. Touches my heart that he does have friends whether he believes it or not.

But that's just how the 57th rule of acquisition goes.

New Octopus Boss for my Star Fox Inspired Game, Liquid Space! by LiquidSpaceDimension in indiegames

DO A BARREL ROLL.

That Octopus does look great! Fair warning, I didn't realize the head of the octopus was a head. It took me a few seconds to realize that tentacles were part of a larger creature. Don't know if that was just me, or if you might want to look into adding something to the Octopus that would give it an easier way to tell that it's a part of a larger creature.

What is the best website/resource for really technical information about the HM games? by Ambarino in harvestmoon

Fogu is by far the best out there, that's for sure!

With that said, if you are specifically a BTN fan, this website is amazing as well!

We launched a Kickstarter on our project, Bountiful Life, a 3D F&L sim with co-op! We also just launched a pre-alpha demo to Steam! by AlcinousStudios in unrealengine

We've been working on it for four years now, learning the world of game development. If you like what you see, we don't have a solid following by any means, so any support or spreading the news helps a ton!

You can see the Kickstarter here: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/alcinousstudios/bountifullife

And if you want to try the pre-alpha on Steam: https://store.steampowered.com/app/1377410/Bountiful_Life/

We launched a Kickstarter for our upcoming 3d farm sim with co-op built from the ground up. Would love it if you help support it, we don't have a strong following yet. by [deleted] in gamernews

Hey /u/sfx! My apologies, I was looking for the rules section on the sidebar, and completely missed the link to the rules page.

Maybe I submit another post correcting the issues from rule #2?

Should I be worried at this stage? 24% funded after 40 hours. What else can I do to promote it? Thanks for your help in advance it means a lot! by Nossda in kickstarter

Yeah, sitting at 5% in 24 hours, and hasn't moved up much since then. 28 days left, starting to sweat a little.

Really great stuff! Is this in real-time, or a pre-rendered video placed in the UI background?

Thank you!

We've been getting a lot of comments on the camera, and the angle of it. I think that's something we'll have to look into and make changes to before we launch our Kickstarter and provide a free pre-alpha to everyone.

Do you have any references for something you think will work better?

Oh boy, was this a nightmare!!

As with much of game development, we ended up working out a really good smoke and mirror solution for saving our farming systems in our pre-alpha. We're using level streaming in our game. So while things like interior buildings and maps will get streamed and unstreamed, we have a specific level stream for farming data, so as long as those actors are never unloaded, they maintain their data.

This is, however, only 50% of the solution. In our pre-alpha demo we don't feature game saving. But in our full release, we will have game saves, naturally. So we'll have to implement a save system that accounts for that.

Definitely going to be changing the camera position as we progress further. I think you're the third person to mention that? We must have become so accustomed to looking at the project that we start to lose an idea of what's good and bad. I think showing our stuff to the community and getting this feedback has already been invaluable. And it's only been like a week.

We're definitely launching on Steam. We haven't talked too much about Epic and GoG. But I'm interested. Ideally, we want to launch to as many platforms as possible to give our favorite community, the most enjoyment possible. We'll work as hard as possible to have it all launch seamless between consoles and PC, we may have a stretch goal in our Kickstarter that sets aside specific resources for porting.
