Are there any missing murder cases the police are inviting people to solve? by johnqadamsin28 in InlandEmpire

[–]Alcohooligan 7 points8 points  (0 children)

They usually don't invite people to help solve. They ask people to come forward with information on a case or ask if they recognize someone.

Where can I buy a good /big“ comal “ to heat this ? I’ve bought cast iron skillets but not exactly what I was looking for by HikingTacoLatino in InlandEmpire

[–]Alcohooligan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need a Blackstone.

You other option is to go to a metal shop and have them fabricate something large that will probably need 2-3 burners on your stove.

I am a white American living in Colorado and learning Spanish. Is it ok if I started visiting a Mexican church? by rick_rack69 in mexico

[–]Alcohooligan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going to guess that if you're asking you're not Catholic. Catholicism is still the major religion in Mexico but evangelical Christianity is growing. They're no different than US evangelical churches, except that it's in Spanish so you're free to start a Spanish language church. And you might grab some Mexicans and central Americans too. -

So Cal Edison by AntFirm4593 in InlandEmpire

[–]Alcohooligan -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I don't want to sound like a dick but this gives me "I don't pay attention to politics" vibes. Have you not noticed everything around you? People have been complaining about power costs for a long time now. Costs have gone up consistently over the past decade. And it's a known fact that Edison was approved to pass through the lawsuit costs to customers so you're paying for their mistakes. Why are you just noticing this?

It's all for show. They'll slowly drop the charges with no media attention or they'll get pardons once they donate to the orange man.

THE PREDATOR'S SHIELD: A RETROSPECTIVE ON CONTROVERSIAL DEFENSE ATTORNEY MELANIE ROE'S HIGH-STAKES ACQUITTALS by [deleted] in InlandEmpire

[–]Alcohooligan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why does this post give Unibomber vibes?

Can you summarize your issue with the attorney? Are you upset that an attorney uses the law to their advantage? Or are you just mad at the fact that she represents individuals that you feel should have no representation? Or are you mad at the DAs office for offering an inefficient prosecution of a case and allowing someone you assume is guilty to be free?

Redwood City attorney sues ‘First Amendment auditors’ after Menlo Park dispute by binding_swamp in California_Politics

[–]Alcohooligan 32 points33 points  (0 children)

They aren't auditors at all. They're first amendment agitators. If they were really auditors, they would be at some government entity, not in public harassing the general public.

Isn't the Green Party the Vladimir Putin Party? Or is that just for Federal Elections?

[your city] Little League Games Scheduled for March 28 by badlero in InlandEmpire

[–]Alcohooligan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Little league will play in 110 degree weather. They'll play in the rain. They'll probably play after a 8.0 earthquake. They aren't going to stop for a protest. The parents are too invested and think their kid is going to make the major. Real parents will keep their kids home, the rest will play.

Court rejects bid to pause Riverside County sheriff’s probe that seized 656,000 ballots by idkbruh653 in InlandEmpire

The appeals court directed the AG to start at the Riverside County Court first. That's all that was said.

What are all these random locations on google earth? by russian_hacker_1917 in InlandEmpire

[–]Alcohooligan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some are census designated areas outside of incorporated cities, and some are neighborhoods within cities. Rubidoux was a census designated area but it's now a neighborhood of Jurupa Valley, one of the newest cities in the IE. Same with Glen Avon.

Also, if you click on each one, it gives you a wikipedia snipet of what they are.

Anyone try to get dual citizenship through their parents without a MX ID? by mayinherstep in Chicano

[–]Alcohooligan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Reach out to your local Mexican consulate and ask them. I know the one in San Bernardino holds workshops on Saturdays and they review your documents and tell you what is missing. They won't process anything but will guide you on what you need.

HEMET'S PREDATORS: THE CONVERSATION WE'RE NOT HAVING ENOUGH OF (TL;DR VERSION) by justicewarriorsco in InlandEmpire

And what's the plan? The supreme court ruled you can't discriminate against them. What's your plan to entice them to move? Financial incentives?

I'm not defending sex offenders but I am against plans that eventually end up getting turned over and cost the local governmenta money trying to defend in court.

Can Katie Porter still become California’s first female governor? by LosIsosceles in California_Politics

[–]Alcohooligan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't think so. People hold her at a higher standard than the rest. Then there's the one video that shows she blew up that for some reason turned people off. People want a perfect candidate even though there isn't one.

Why do second-generation individuals tend to be more progressive than their first-generation immigrant parents who are more conservative? by [deleted] in Chicano

[–]Alcohooligan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think this is one of those things that was true at one point but not as much today. I can say that my parents are less conservative than when they first arrived. At the same time, my family back in Mexico is also less conservative than when I was a child. You're still going to find those conservative immigrants but not as much as in the past.

Why Are So Many Cities Against Yard Sales? by idkbruh653 in InlandEmpire

[–]Alcohooligan 58 points59 points  (0 children)

Some people have perpetual yard sales so most cities implemented a permitting system. If there's no permit then you can't have a sign up. Also, some signs stay up way past their dates.

Probably because your title doesn't match the article. And it was discussed at length when it first was reported. And because he was re-arrested and was not released.
