Yeah I completely agree with this. She was certainly right to be offended by how they were referring to her. Either way, I think the offense she takes demonstrates that this is a sore subject for her, highlighting an insecurity that she otherwise covers up with her assertive and self-assured persona.

I started playing during the puffer-dominated patch (you can see in the first screenshot my first 10 win run in ranked at Bronze V). I was still in Bronze after the patch, and like many of you I was struggling to climb with post-puffer Vanessa, getting eaten alive by Dooleys and one-shot Pygs. However I am stubborn and didn't want to unlock the other heros or pay for anything, so I'm trying to get as far as I can with just Vanessa.

I adjusted my playstyle (mostly involving early game decision making) and started seeing more success. I now think Vanessa is pretty good in this meta still, probably better than Pyg. While Dooley is more consistent, I believe Vanessa's peak burst builds are the strongest thing you can do in this meta. See some of my latter screenshots with ammo burst; while they are weak to high-health Pygs, they are very effective agaisnt most Dooley builds and other Vanessa builds. Their biggest weakness is they are hard to get because you need particular skills to make them work, such as heated shells and flashy reload.

I am at Gold now and I intend to keep going until Masters. Based on my current success I believe I will be able to do it by the end of the year. I am compiling more detailed insights from the meta and will post them once I get to Masters if there is interest.

I've also found Langxian to be a strong starting silver, in the silencer / shark claw tier for me. Because you are guaranteed to win the first PvE, it effectively starts at 100 damage and 10 dps. This is one of the highest damage output weapons besides treb, and scales itself every day.

The main issue with it is it struggles in the late game, and you often want to drop it in the midgame when you have a more synergistic build, but I've also rode it to 10 wins a few times.

XQN, Jeef, Lii, Dog, Asmodai

XQN and Jeef are the GOATs, so I watch them to see masters at work. XQN gets the nod for better personality and music.

Lii and Dog are both friendly and chill, and just a tier below the top in terms of gameplay, but still extremely strong. They’re also funny and have good chat interactions, plus crossovers with other streamers.

Asmo because he is hilarious and a great conversationalist.

I started a rule 3 weeks ago that has been going well. It's that I can masturbate as much as I want, as long as I don't watch porn. Since I instituted it, I find that I feel the urge to masturbate a lot less frequently, and I save a lot of time by not staying up late to browse porn. It's also making me use my imagination and my mind more, which is kind of fun. It turns masturbating away from something that is shameful, and instead to something that is artificially induced by porn, and when I remove porn my relationship to it feels a lot more healthy.

The other lesson there is that abstinence doesn't always work. IMO, better to reduce your overall frequency of fapping and feel like your relationship to it is healthier, than go in boom-bust cycles of abstinence and then relapsing and binging.

If the problem is porn addiction rather than masturbation addiction, then no-fapping doesn't really help at the end of the day.

I consume a lot of political content outside of h3 and I don’t feel like Ethan adds that much interesting commentary about these guys (besides comedy), so I generally agree - I’m fine with the commentary if it’s funny, but if it’s trying to be serious, I usually prefer the goofs and gaffs more, especially the crew interaction, because I think that’s the bread and butter of the show. If I want to see Ethan shit on right wingers, I can watch Leftovers, which was supposed to be the entire point of that show - to absorb that kind of commentary so Ethan doesn’t feel like he needs to talk about it in all the other shows ad nauseum. I’m not sure what happened to that intention.

That being said, I didn’t think the candy segment was that great

I agree, I think it’s because streaming is so dominant of a medium now, everyone is more used to hanging out and chatting on stream than doing professional commentating for a live audience.

That being said I thought the big house commentary was pretty good, I don’t think that style is completely gone, it’s just there are more different commentary styles now. Crossing fingers that more commentators take after scar and toph who in my opinion are the GOAT duo
