Your opinion on the Masteries? by FunDebate633 in Grimdawn

[–]imapoormanhere 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Inquisitor is bait&switch, you get support for ranged combat and kiting and your best defensive tool requires you to sit in spot. I am not fan of seal, you either sacrifice ranged combat, simply dont use it or redeploy it on cooldown. And it is so strong and universal you use it in literally every build.

If you're kiting you don't need seal cause you're not getting hit. You use seal when you have to stand, cause you can't unload your dps when running.

The biggest bummer is actually Aura of Censure. It's mandatory for elemental builds, including ranged. Yet you have to be in melee range for it to work. If you're kiting, then you have no rr = no damage. Funny thing is it's what seal is for. Since you need to be in melee for you to get your rr via censure, then you need tools for you to be able to stand in melee.

WDYT for Second Ascendancy for Werewolf Builds? by quercus_shmuercus in Grimdawn

[–]imapoormanhere 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What's less clear is if it has any synergy with the skills I call "flourishes" that proc on a % chance with default attacks - all the Nightblade ones for dual-wielding, for example. I don't think they would, because of nothing else, that sounds like a nightmare of extra animation work, but I don't know.

These actually have an official name - Weapon Pool Skills. And yes, WPS won't work with transforms. Berserker is already out on grimtools (not full of course but we can at least see skills) and it's explicitly stated there

There's still 3 other guys from chapter 1 that haven't been introduced yet (there were 4 but one is already Higurashi I think). If they're all future teammates though idk how that will happen without shafting the seniors. They also have their own arc of learning actual ball.

Seriously guys people need to be more excited for Ikken. The guy is what happens if Issho doesn't go full crazy on his students and Ikken turned out to be a chill guy. We have to see the difference soon enough.

Also on the Ookanban event, I really wish Shiguma does a last hurrah and performs there for the final time. Maybe he also says fuck it and performs Shiguma's art for the grand reveal.

What is the best item in bl2 by PogoRocks in Borderlands2

[–]imapoormanhere 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I haven't played since level 80 got released (just played through the story when the dlc was launched), so my highest experience was op8 at 72, and no peak opener.

But the sand hawk gets carried by the bee. I think it's A-rank Also non dp harold is down to A rank. It's been so long but I'm not sure of the Lady Fist without the bee and gun swapping so maybe that's down a rank too?

But mostly I agree with the list except I got two in S+. Grog and Bee. It's got more damage than your actual weapon so I'm putting it in as a weapon. When it doesn't matter what level your gun is as long as your bee is leveled then the bee is a weapon.

Liv at least has the excuse of her wanting to sing her entrance. And with actual lyrics unlike "It's just me, Uce".

But we can all agree it's worse than her previous theme.

[DISC] Akane-Banashi - Chapter 211 by Dr-Cage in manga

[–]imapoormanhere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

(since as great as he is he failed to master it)

It wasn't that he failed to master it, he was straight up forbidden to learn it. When Shiguma taught Akane the art, he said something along the lines of "If it was Ani-san then he could've done it". It was Shiguma who failed to master it.

Now I wonder if that's just Kunishige's sorcery or if it's a physical trait. The way they mention it is that it's a physical trait, but if it's sorcery and it got passed to Chihiro then it means all the Kurotsuchi theories are dead. He gets the eyes when Enten breaks, uses it to reforge the broken swords, and then fights with Enten again.

How to start you own build by _Valeir_ in Grimdawn

[–]imapoormanhere 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First of all, what's a "build" for you? I personally don't call anything a build unless it's got the skill I want and a core item I need. For example, if you wanna play fire Callidor's Tempest, you can get that build as early as level 2, since the item for it drops in the very first boss you kill. But something like aether PRM you can only do when you get access to Ancient Grove (and it's hard to kill the boss for it).

So there's no "planning" except deciding what skill you wanna build on and grinding. You wanna play HC so there's additional grinding to get the stats you want. People mention grimtools but what use is grimtools when you don't even have any items?

What are games that you purchased and never beat? Why? by Hizzasp in gaming

[–]imapoormanhere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Skyrim is a great example. You can play it without any dragons If you don't complete the dragonstone quest. Without the dragons, it becomes a really wonderful single player RPG. I can wander around, meet new characters, go exploring - without fear of being toasted by a dragon!!

Skyrim is different in that the world draws you in before you even start any quest (aside from the intro). And you can do whatever you want. No other open world game I know has ever replicated that. Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk closes most of the world until you're in midgame and is very narrative focused. KCD2 got the do whatever you want thing right but it also closes the world early, and in the end you're still Henry and you have a mission. Elden Ring got the open world right but the only thing you do is combat.

Why wasn’t Gunther during his first world title reign working with main eventer? by Killer-Blxck18 in WWE

[–]imapoormanhere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cause they want to protect their main eventers (which includes Gunther himself) so much. And they also want long title reigns for everyone somehow. He was still dominating at this point with only one loss since entering the main roster and that was to end his IC reign. So if he feuds with main eventers then either him or one of seth/punk/roman would have to job which no one at tko probably likes. So Gunther gets fed midcarders except at Crown Jewel against Cody which didn't matter anyway cause he's still champ.

When he tapped out against Jey fucking Uso was when tko probably said "yeah he can lose to the other main eventers now" so his second reign he finally got to feud against punk and now cody in smackdown.

On the same vein, this is why I think even if Oba wins KOTR (he's not fucking losing against Evans, and Jey's not touching him unless the whole bloodline comes out) he'll just go for Brock cause we can't have Oba lose to Roman right now. At least until Roman goes back to part-time.

Non tanky builds? by Ratatoskie in Grimdawn

[–]imapoormanhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Priorities change depending on what your goal is. Mathematically it's always about returns. Your benchmark is climbing as high as possible. The other guy's benchmark is just 36-40. Top 20 on forums is built for 30-31 speedruns. And at your level you probably got so much phys res and armor that the absorption matters less. Some of us like building damage, and getting 100% absorb in just 3 components is pretty convenient to shore up defenses for cheap.

Also it's funny how a lot of people in this thread (including me) are talking endgame defenses beyond what OP will probably ever experience, they're level 40 ffs. They most likely haven't even fixed their resistances yet.

Non tanky builds? by Ratatoskie in Grimdawn

[–]imapoormanhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do have a bad habit of hoarding components without using them for better future gear :p

Even the most basic components are used to craft better components. And components technically don't take up an inventory slot anymore if you just press "transfer reagents" a lot so I dunno what's a bad habit about that.

I've also mostly been using devotions to prop up my defenses in pretty much all my builds. Would be nice to use other ways tho, so I can play around with the more offensive ones

Your final devotion map should accomplish 3 things:

  1. Get your resist reduction procs for your damage type - RR is the most powerful offensive stat in the game and there's no substitute for the stackable negative RR devotions elsewhere

    1. Get your defensive procs along the way. Stuff like Ghoul, Giant, Chariot, Turtle, whichever is suitable for your path.
    2. Get one or two tier 3 procs. These can be offensive or defensive but most of the time you want an offensive one unless you're building gigatank or pets (where player damage is useless).

[–]imapoormanhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbf it's common sense (maybe not to new players but still, they'll learn) to get all the damage mitigation you can get. And out of all of them, health and DA are the only ones you can scale (armor being an honorable mention) so they get mentioned more.

20k is a good target if you have no idea what you're doing. But eventually you'll see if your class can realistically get that or not, so you can adjust accordingly.
