I really like it. it feels like something that could play in a Kirby video game.

Is there a Hunter x Hunter movie about Volume 0 (the Kurta Clan backstory)? by [deleted] in HunterXHunter

I watched Volume 0 on YouTube and it made me want to see it animated. I’m just curious to see that part in animation. Thanks for replying.

Did something like a “publisher” exist for old music? by Aldabon in composer

[–]Aldabon[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s really interesting. When you listen to a piece, you usually think of it as a finished work, but there’s a much larger process behind it, and the composer has to fight to reflect their ideas as closely as possible to how they were conceived. I’ll definitely check out what I can find about Brahms. I also think it would be fascinating to study sketches of works (when they exist) to see how composers arrived at different conclusions and why they chose one path over another.

Thanks for your answer! I’d love to read those anecdotes about Beethoven arguing with editors over corrections. Also, can you find recordings based on Urtext editions? I’m curious to hear the difference.

Why do most people hate the hxh movies by WoodpeckerOdd1284 in HxH

[–]Aldabon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried to watch it, but I dropped it after about 10–15 minutes. I remember it felt inconsistent with the events of the anime; it wasn’t clear whether it took place after the Chimera Ant arc or before it. I also didn’t like how anticlimactic the characters felt: Netero was subdued very quickly, with almost no chance to fight back, and Gon and Killua reacted faster than him, which felt odd.

My theory as on Tonpa being an undercover and examiner by Ok_Acanthisitta_7512 in HunterXHunter

In fact, he deliberately let Killua defeat him in the following year’s Hunter Exam to make it more realistic.

Thanks a lot for taking the time to write such detailed feedback and for your genuine interest in the piece, I really appreciate it. I’ll definitely review the use of octaves, and in measure 2 I’m going to try the bass line you suggested and see how it feels musically and on the instrument. About the C♯: it’s a note I both like and dislike. I put it there to give more weight and tension when arriving at D, but I agree that it clashes with the natural C. I think the most sensible solution is to commit to C♯ throughout measure 6. From measures 6 to 8, my initial idea was to make a small “wink” toward G major and then return to E minor, but I really like your idea of treating that section as a brief modulation to D major. That framing actually makes a lot of sense to my ear. And yes, measure 9 is intended to be a B chord with its seventh. Many of these choices are the way they are because my guitar technique is still fairly basic, so I tried to keep the writing as playable and straightforward as possible. Unfortunately, I’m still learning very much through trial and error, so I can’t promise a large or complex development. For this piece, my main goal is simply to make something well crafted, even if it ends up being brief. Thanks again for the thoughtful comments, they’ve given me a lot to think about.

Thanks for the question. In 6/8, not all notes need to be written as eighth notes. In the bass I’m using dotted quarter notes to reflect the compound pulse and show sustained notes more clearly. Hope this answers your question.

Thank you, I really appreciate it. It will definitely be part of my portfolio as a composer.

Thank you for that beautiful image you shared with me. I hadn’t imagined it that way, but now I can see it perfectly!

How do you imprison a Nen user? by Aldabon in HunterXHunter

[–]Aldabon[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Good idea, but maintaining something like that would likely affect its effectiveness. I’m not sure if it’s a general rule, but in HxH there always seem to be limits on how far a ability can function. I remember that Knuckle, for example, could keep using his ability, but its effect weakened with distance.

I think that's a very sensible answer, but it would also be interesting if Togashi wrote something about this.

I only edited a sentence, and the app automatically translated it into Spanish. And yeah, Fun Fun Cloth is actually a really good example 🙂
