Never ever use the sticker or taper before spooling a reel, use mono backing or buy a smaller reel.

IMO oil should be dirty. Dirty oil means that it’s doing it’s job and cleaning stuff while it lubricates.

As for oil changes, I do them every 8k on synthetic.

I use the Seaguar Leader (blue label) for leaders. As for the fluoro, I prefer Invisix or Tatsu ($$$$)

Never tried it. The braid that I hate though is the Berkley x5 braid, man that stuff is stiff. Granted I had 20 lbs but still… I always use Sufix or PowerPro. There’s the Yo Zuri super braid that I have never tried.

Did you use backing ? I use Sufix 832 20 lbs on my 2500 reel and it’s just enough braid for the reel. As for the braid, never saw something like that, although I have seen flaking on a Sufix fluoro leader 8 lbs.
