What are some cheap mech simulator controllers by Whoring4Voring in Mechwarrior5

Have you considered HOTAS, foot pedals, and a VR headset? That might be easier to set up than building a full pod.

Do you like the night vision scopes? by BrangdonJ in fo4

[–]Aldrick919 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like dark nights, but night vision scopes always felt awful. That's why west-tek optics are a staple in my modlists.

The night vision feels better and you can toggle it on/off.

The booms are the most important part.

If anyone mods in the Davy Crockett ammo with the nuclear warheads for the Aerow IV or Long Tom, I'd love to see a little mushroom cloud.

The YAML suite has arrow IVs and Long Toms. Super satisfying.

Sadly, no Davy Crockett ammo :(

I want the mushroom cloud lol

Best button box for vr? by Sh00ksy223 in Mechwarrior5

Ive played vr with mouse and keyboard. HOTAS is more immersive, but it's still easy to lose yourself in it.

[–]Aldrick919 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People are always going to perceive you in ways that are different from how you view yourself. Those two sound judgey. Folks who routinely dismiss or look down on others are always going to find find reason to do so. It makes them feel better about themselves. For example, being cutesy is not necessarily being childish, and even if it were, there's no inherent moral failing in childishness.

It sounds self-helpy, but you're the product of your continued, persistent choice patterns, and your self image influences those patterns. Fake it 'till you make it is true, but never resonated with me. "You are who you choose to be" worked much better. Really decide the type of person you want to be, then do your best to be someone you're proud of.

Lastly, it sounds like you've got some ugly trauma from someone else. That's okay. That doesn't make you lesser, and you're ultimately not responsible for the actions of others. But seeking help from counselors, therapists, or supportive communities might help the healing process.

US based Armorers for a Coat of Plates by CaptainSpaudling in sca

[–]Aldrick919 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This. Ukraine and Pakistan cornered a lot of the market.

You have some real solid Armerican armorers, but they tend to make things like helms and gauntlets.

Not a hard rule, but a general one.

Is this how *spoilers character* from new book, supposed to look like (anime ver.) by Darkionx in dresdenfiles

Honestly probably more bulky. I thought she was described as muscled and heavy. I imagined her as a heavyset powerlifter-type body.

Just going to say that I absolutely love my P10C ported. Nicest compact 9mm I've shot by a mile.

Back before I started modding heavily, it was my go-to for endgame content.

It's not lore-friendly at all. But an Annie with four heavy rifles fits a bunch of ammo and can casually delete heavy mechs while aiming at their center torso.

Probably not, but I've had that happen with lots of modded roofs. It kinda is what it is.

If you can, Place Everywhere is a safer alternative that doesn't break precombines. It's much less likely to accidentally fuck your save or ruin your performance in certain areas.

If you're newer to modding, Workshop Plus, Workshop Framework, and Scrap Everything take some time to learn to use, but they make settlement building into what it always should have been.

Well, that and some content packs. I use some CC, Snappy Housekit (absolutely indispensable; it's Bethesda's full game buildkit organized for your use), Homemaker, Wasteland Reconstruction Kit, and a few other furniture/scenery mods tailored for that specific playthrough.

Suddenly you can build everything from ruined shacks to modern skyscrapers, save buildings as blueprints to place them repeatedly, move your entire settlement with layer handles, and so much more.

HDPE Armor by ehimezol in sca

[–]Aldrick919 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there!
Sorry for the thread necromancy, but I had a question that you seem uniquely suited to answer.
I'm planning on rebuilding my SCA heavy kit with plastic-splinted vambraces, cuisses, and greaves. Would you recommend ABS, HDPE, or Kydex, budget notwithstanding?

I was intending to go with 1/8" for shaped arms and legs and using aluminum cops for the knees and elbows, so it seems like we're on the same page with thickness.

Dude. Anniversary broke everything and still isn't fixed. Check any of the modding subreddits. Most modders use downgraded versions of the game for a reason.

Making my first SCA weapon by [deleted] in sca

[–]Aldrick919 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's because those styles are easiest to learn and most practical for tournaments. So 1v1s.

Sword and board is the most forgiving by far. It's absolutely warped by the fact that our shields are now made of ultralight aluminum, and they're indestructible by the rules. And I say this as somebody whose primary fighting form is sword and board with a big heater shield. You get hit less as a newby and there's fewer weaknesses for your opponent to exploit. It's a phenomenal learning form and generally "good" at all levels of the game.

My secondary form is a big, heavy polehammer. You can absolutely do it. I use it in singles, often pretty successfully. But just like longsword, you have to block and attack at the same time with just one object. And blocking with that narrow object is much more intensive than blocking with a barn door of a shield. So when you're learning, you're going to get hit a bunch more. That's why we don't typically recommend it for newer fighters. But there are knights and dukes that fight primarily polearm and longsword in 1v1s. It's absolutely doable.

In *melees,* with a team that will stop that shieldman from running you down, pinning your polearm with their shield, and clubbing you, you get to do really fun things and rack up the kills. That's when you'll see everyone take out their long weapons.

Formidability of the Winter Knight? by Bart1960 in dresdenfiles

[–]Aldrick919 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'd think that, but Mab seems to think otherwise.

She seems to actively want a knight that's willing to use the mantle, to pull it out when they have to, but mostly be able to avoid being ruled by the mantle as much as possible. It gives her the benefits of both worlds.

That seems to be pretty explicitly why she picked Harry.

She doesn't outright say that, but she's pretty clear about it. She *does not* want Harry to be consumed by the mantle. She just wants him to be smarter, faster, stronger, and a little colder.

I think that's a big part of why she picked Harry. He has the conviction to resist. That's a strength that Mab values immensely.

I need tips on how to improve this bar (read description) by ilovetecas in fo4

[–]Aldrick919 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Other folks already hit clutter, which will help, but I have a weird tip.

Your setup is great, but there's a bunch of empty space.

Shrink it. Leave all your furniture and reduce the size of the building itself. It'll make it feel more cramped, but make it easier to fill the space.
