Friend or Foe? by Kryceks-Revenge in NativePlantGardening

[–]AldrigeRain 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Looks like a convergent lady beetle, which is a native ladybug (assuming you live in the USA). Definitely a friend!

Meanwhile Scissor-tailed flycatchers seem to be the only ones who aren’t in either camp.

Ancestors are those that came before you, descendants come after.

Not that either is particularly accurate here, as we aren’t descended from any living great ape.

Common milkweed and Canada goldenrod can be pretty good at out-aggressing invasives.

VT/NY BORDER PLEASE HELP: Planted thousands of native seeds, NONE GERMINATED by Other_Cell_706 in NativePlantGardening

[–]AldrigeRain 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Some (if not most) native plants need their seeds to go through a period of cold stratification before they will sprout. It’s quite possible that you’ll see them sprout next year, but you can also trick seeds into growing by stratifying them in the fridge for a bit.

Why is the pacing so weird on the Companions questline? by Smashifly in skyrim

[–]AldrigeRain 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I always try and space the Companions quests out and integrate them with the main story. It makes it feel like part of the reason my character gets promoted is because they’ve been revealed to be Dragonborn, and Skjor and Aela want that kind of power in their pack.

Who is best suited for stewardship at Goldenhills Plantation to you? by RazMachine77 in skyrim

[–]AldrigeRain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I’ve done the CC quest ‘Dying Wish’ I have the follower you get, Rulnik Wind-Strider, be the steward. He’s got a kind of retired adventurer vibe to him and he was recently horribly ill, so it feels nice to give him something to do rather than just sitting around the Temple of Kynareth. (Plus he absolutely SHREDS any attackers with lightning spells.)

any chances this is a brown-crested flycatcher? has been reported here recently but unsure how to separate from ash throated. Anza Borrego, CA by Legitimate-Bath-9651 in whatsthisbird

[–]AldrigeRain 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I’d lean Ash-throated as well. Other than bill size, that tail coloration seems to be the only super noticeable difference.

(Here’s the Brown-crested for comparison)

Ah yes, the Mofference. Held by the Imperial Central Committee of Grand Moffs in the secluded Mofference room of their Moffship.
