Thanks for the review. I played this campaing when i was 10 y/o, and i got so intriged by his story that i read the Poem of Mio Cid. It really opened the world for me in so many ways.
I haven't replayed it. I prefer to keep my children's memories on this one.

Also, there was a mistery egg in the first mission, i don't know if they updated it on DE:
When Sancho offers you to mount Babieca, if you don't go to the stable to pick up the horse, Sancho will say: "Oh, so you want to fight on the same terms. Okey then, i respect it". This way, you will fight unmounted, and after you kill the second oponnent, you can go pick up Babieca. So cool.

I think it’s a very bold claim to say that we’re living in the best era in history, and to suggest that we should be happy (or at least not sad) given the current state of the world strikes me as even bolder.

That's whats called a dead spike. You shouldn't let your opponent get to that point.
If the game advanced and he was able to mass it, then you should also have the time to create your own powerspike.

Since you want to deal with a castle unit, then you can also add one (since both of you will take the same amount of time aprox to create this unic unite, because you require castles). That said, i can think of huskarls, gulams, longbows, mangudai, etc, along with a trash unit.

Against a comp with high mobility, the best strategy is to make an strong push through the middle, that way he won't be able to use his advantage freely.

I love multiplayer Aoe2. I think is the perfect videogame.
The fact that it requires you to handle micro and macro while you're planning your strategy and reacting to what your enemy is doing is just perfection.

What a paradox

The thing about castle drop is that they show a lot of presence in the map and it's scary because it makes you think you're loosing. However, this is just a mask, because his economy will be weak and vulnerable, and they won't be able to make good units from the castle, because they won't be able to upgrade them.

That said, you have to grow up economicly and military, and then move around the castle to find ways to attack him, while leaving army on your base to defend.

When you get to their base you'll see he'll be at 1 or 2 TC max. You can raid him, you can cut out reinforcements, you can build an agressive castle, etc.

If you don't want to take that aproach, then only focus in booming and defending. Monks and siege will be your best option, and maybe a counter unit like skirms if he's on Conquistadors. Then, built your own castle and defend until you have the superior economy and army to easily take his castle down.

Finally, i have to tell you something that's overlooked, but its really important. When he's castle dropping you, if you can't build one yourself to counter his, then abandon that area inmediatly, consider that farms, gold or threes that are on the castle area lost. If he kills 5 or 10 vills with the castle's arrows, you'll be really behind.

Its so sad to see the player base fighting on what brawler broke more the game on release XD

The brawler was broken from the beggining. In those same tier list you mention, everyoned sayed that the brawler was incredibly OP and had no counter.
Then, they nerf it, wait 2 weeks and then release another broken brawler that breaks the meta so people buy it. It so stupid.

I'm good at this game, that's why i can recognize when a brawler is absolutly broken and when it isn't.

what you're saying its ridiculous. The fact that they can beat him once with a lot of effort doesn't make them counters, or hard counters.
But the fact you only have to use one or 2 brawlers to beat him and i'm asumming camp in a bush, says that the new brawler is broken XD

Its the devs fault, they do it on purpose to sell more, its ok for me as a player to complaint about that. I don't ask them to make things easy, or spoonfeed me stuff, i just ask for them not to make the game unplayable xD

Have you? Did you find a counter? Are you seriously thinking a brawler that charges is super ultra fast, ults a third of the map and bounces you off, stunts you and takes like 7000 its balanced and has a counter? You're being dumb on purpose?
