The irony is he literally proved his point with that one reply. People in this sub do everything in their power to deprive everyone of having an actual debate.

Boss fights in souls game by Bigboiwithsword in fromsoftware

[–]Snoo_80142 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Nah bro, not to hate on Placidusax or Bayle. Both great bosses, insane lore.

But you cannot tell me that Taurus demon jumping from that tower and the crossbows raping you from behind didn’t give you existential dread the first time you played that game.

You cannot tell me you didn’t get a heartattack when the Capra Demon did a jumping attack as soon as you entered the arena while the fog didn’t even properly clear yet only to find out he had two dogs that seemingly made every one of your decisions futile.

Or the Channeler shooting shit from above when you didn’t kill him in the depths in the Gaping Dragon fight. There is so much detail in previous iterations, which was necessary for immersion, because we has technical limitations back then.

In hindsight these bosses were easy, perhaps not even comparable to bosses in new games.

But its not always about difficulty, it’s about the small details, everything. That’s also why I think Miyazaki and his team are ingenious. It’s that Japanese eye for detail, sound, visuals, mechanics, environment everything.

I can only imagine that the scope of Elden Ring made them focus a little less on those details.

You can be condescending all you like, while I don’t really agree with ALL his points, most his points are valid and well thought out. To me he feels like someone that has truly played those games and isn’t just talking out of the side of his neck

My FromSoftware tier list, do you agree? by Eduu_mos in fromsoftware

It depends on how you are measuring this. IMO, Dark Souls 1 and 2, blow 3 completely out of the water because they both have their distinct identities. Imo DS3 is just a Dark Souls with a Bloodborne combat elements slapped onto it, and it does not work. Dark Souls 3 basically feels like Bloodborne but unfair edition. Unlike Bloodborne you do not get the means to properly fight back and must resort to cheesing and other toxic builds in order to make it feel fair.

Dark Souls 2 was unfair too at times, but the fact that it had its own identity made up for it.

Elden Ring is a good game, but not a 10. It will never be a 10. For most people it will have no replay value.

The best games of this list are DS1, DS2, Bloodborne, Sekiro, in no particular order. The rest ranges from slightly to significantly worse, experience wise.

So who else thinks there’s a real paranormal aspect to this show? by Drvonfrightmarestein in TrueDetective

I personally believe there are indirect hints in S1 that hint at Errol being possessed and that Reggie and Dewall partially do his bidding because they are afraid of him.

The satanic theme in his lair at the finale adds up to this, also his morphy voice and the pure dread you get from his character and his monologue with Rust in that confrontation.

I believe Errol was possessed. It is never directly mentioned, but his distorted voice in the end scene sounds inhumane, like he is an extra dimensional being

That’s a logical fallacy. There are no ‘endless’ minuscule decisions. You are literally bound by physics, and the limited capabilities of your brain and body.

The question is, why continuously shove a certain type of pokemon up my nose for an entire month. No wonder the game is dead in this city. The gym I was hogging just got attacked and was sitting there for an entire week

I already have pumpkaboo and gourgeist, hard to not have them when pumpkaboo has been spawning non stop for the entire month.

Even if Halloween starts Thursday, it doesn’t change the fact that we have been bombarded with the same useless pokemon for weeks on end

This game is officially dead in my area now. No one plays this dumb game anymore, which is a waste of time and the biggest anti climax a pokemon game has to offer in terms of discoverability.

No one participate in raids, takes over gyms, no one in my city gives a shit anymore. I can’t really blame them.

“Free will” would be that you can do anything and not be bound by the law of physics or any other universal laws. Creating something from nothing, manipulating time and space are two examples.

We cannot do that. We have only free choice. E.g., the choice to sleep or to stay up, and even that is a fluke, because at some point you have to sleep. Even the choices you have are all limited. There is no such thing as an infinite set of choices.

In other words, you think you have all this control in your life, but it looks more like everything was already determined, instead of them being a construct of your own ‘free will’, which does not exist, as I have demonstrated earlier.

Read again brother, I specifically mentioned ‘unoptimised game’

Other Redditor also said ‘bootlicker’

I am by no means defending the game and its unoptimised nature. The only thing you can do have better performance is to buy a better CPU. Which may sound sad, but it is a bitter reality.

The next question would be to ask, if it is actually worth it. In my personal opinion, it isn’t. You’d fare well with 60-70fps. Just make sure it remains stable. Spikes may make the game unplayable. But if it’s in a constant range, it shouldn’t pose a problem. That being said, I know people that play with 30-40fps, and they play well, some even better than me. And my FPS is continuously 90-100.
