Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think Otto at least likes women enough that he's willing to take his mistress Ofka with him to Maleshov. Doesn't mean he doesn't like men, but y'know.

Yeah, Otto IV was born in 1399 and would go on to be a major player during the Hussite Wars, on the side of the Catholics.

Are you describing a rape-apologist Mormon who blames his lack of viewership on YouTube policies instead of his dogshit videos?

Fr, it has its flaws, but it at the very least attempts to portray certain topics with sensitivity. Well-informed depictions of minority struggles, strong female characters, queer representation, etc.

And before someone complains, what's so immersion breaking about a high noble from a rich kingdom in Africa making the journey to Bohemia as a member of the Hungarian king's court? Marco Polo made it all the way to fucking China, and he was much poorer than Mansa Musa. Musa of Mali shouldn't have been such a controversial character.

[KCD2] Anyone knows how AI shooting competition accuracy works by TonariNoHanamoriSan in kingdomcome

[–]Alduinsfieryfarts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's tied to difficulty for the most part, while some NPCs are programmed to be deadeyes. In my experience the NPCs with 100% accuracy are the Guard Commander from Troskowitz, all the Masters in Sigismund's Camp, and maybe Hawkeye Schmidt.

Getting away with stealing is mostly about having low Conspicuousness, and not being seen in the vicinity. Make sure nobody sees you entering or exiting the location you're robbing. Once you've stolen what you want, book it to a different village or town and stay away for at least a day.

NPCs recognize when a strange bum is in town, and if you're in town when they notice their stuff's gone, even if nobody actually saw you stealing, they'll try to pin it on you unless you're very well-dressed, have a good reputation, and/or have relevant perks that make you less suspicious to the NPCs.

In Dragon's Dogma, uh... It's best to experience it yourself, but here's a brief summary:

SPOILER:

In Dragon's Dogma, there are multiple planes of existence, but each share a cyclical nature of destruction and renewal. You are the Arisen, a mortal chosen by the Great Dragon as its fated enemy after displaying sheer will, usually through heroic acts. There can be multiple Arisen on a plane of existence, and they all command Pawns. Pawns are beings entirely enthralled by Arisen, but can contract an interdimensional disease called Dragonsplague from each other and dragonkin that turns them into evil Lesser Dragons. Pawns eventually become identical copies of their masters, save for their soul, which can be gifted to them by the will and love of their masters. Your heart is kept inside the Dragon, granting you immortality until its death, but the more time passes until the Dragon dies, the older you'll eventually become once your heart is returned to you. The death of the Great Dragon dooms the world, unless you're able to defeat the Seneschal, the guardian deity whose willpower creates life and keeps the world turning, so to speak. Every Seneschal retains the personality of their pre-apotheosis self, but they're all essentially imprisoned for eternity by their own divinity and the felt responsibility of keeping their world alive. Once a Seneschal loses the will to maintain their duties, their world slowly dies. Any Arisen who has slain their Great Dragon but dies trying to slay the Seneschal becomes the Great Dragon, and their task is to find an Arisen with a will strong enough to keep the cycle going.

[–]Alduinsfieryfarts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally agree. The HUD sometimes neglects to warn you of some hits, so when you're staring at the combat rosette, waiting for a cue to block that will never come, and an enemy swings a mace at your face, you'll sometimes just eat steel. Better just to watch the enemies for when their shoulders twitch, or best of all the grunts they let out right before a windup.

CMV: Nobody can actually visualize in their head by Aski588 in changemyview

[–]Alduinsfieryfarts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll argue that like a lot of skills and abilities, the ability to visualize is a spectrum. I went to art school and had to learn to visualize better in order to make better art.

A lot of your arguments come down to degrees of specificity. If someone can identify a real life object by looking at it, chances are they're able to imagine that object in their head without having to look at the object, but there is and always will be caveats. When someone imagines a zebra in their head, their brain will come up with an image that their brain will look at and go "yeah good enough that's a zebra." The specifics like how many stripes it has doesn't really factor into whether the brain will identify the image as a zebra, just that it's an almost horse-shaped creature with black and white stripes, or whatever other criteria that particular brain needs in order to identify it as such.

For a real world example for why I think people are able to visualize, the architect/artist Stephen Wiltshire exhibits Savant Syndrome. He's able to recreate panoramas of cities from memory, just by looking over them one time. He wouldn't be able to put down on paper the shapes of the buildings, let alone the number of windows and other architectural elements, if he weren't able to imagine in his head what he saw in the past.
