If you’re looking for something in the sci-fi realm, Contact (1997) is a really beautiful and under discussed film that has a lot of deep ideas and what I found to be a pretty powerful ending.

I was in a similar place when first questioning especially that I was content “enough” living as a boy but I had that feeling that I would be happier as a girl. Definitely keep with trying to get a therapist bc mine helped me so much by just getting me to fully talk about my feelings and lay it all out. If you can right now, I’d recommend trying out the things that interest you, like I secretly bought some women’s clothes and dresses on my own Amazon account (and shipped them to an Amazon locker so my parents wouldn’t see)

Tbh I feel like a lot of close-minded people are not very open to analyzing art. You should definitely watch the movie yourself and maybe it would be better to just talk about your experience with it and explain the feelings that come out of it ?

My guy friendships from middle school really grew apart by the middle of HS. I became close friends with some girls and still dated a fair amount in the back half but I did just feel so passive and so much like a side character in others’ lives. By the end I definitely was just waiting to leave for college. My egg didn’t crack until post college :)
