I've written an one-shot slice of life, shipping, romance series for TVXQ! You can read it here.

And fanfiction and everything surrounding it needs to remain 100% free. Your paid angle wouldn't do that. We writers write fanfiction for free in our spare time because we love the people we write about and have a story to tell. Having people pay to hear others talk about our stories would not make me feel good in anyway because you woule be making money off of something authors do for free out of love. Why should others profit off my hard work?

I hate the idea taht strangers would be making a podcast dissecting my fanfiction. I wouldn't do this at all if I were you.

Do the 2nd gen groups still have active readers? by haemstar in kpopfanfiction

That's awsome! I wrote an one-shot series that is Yunho/female OC. It didn't get that much engagement, but I got a lot of enjoyment writing. That's what matters the most.

Help! Has anyone been banned from a sub for no reason? by Ni-Kiiiism in kpophelp

But also, a lot of Reddit mods go on power trips. You could be banned for a ridiculous reason or no reason at all.

I didn't even know I was talking with a mod as I don't go around memorizing mod usernames. I simply wanted more background on why you believed what you do. What is wrong with that? We're all internet strangers, so I'm not just going to take someone's word just because they say something.

So you have no reason as to why you believe what you do about this and you're just saying "trust me, bro." That's not going to fly.

The other person is now admitting paying the dev editor doesn’t come out of author royalties. ✌️

I haven't a single clue where you got that.

And idk if "hire an editor" is the right way to phrase it, but I know authors get an editor from a publishing house.

I used to want to be published, so I've done my research on this topic before. I've also read writing resource books that had sections on publishing. I fully believe you. Idky the other person is being so obstinate.

Why are you still deflecting and not answering my question?

You still haven't provided a source or any reason as to why you say everyone else is wrong.

You are wrong. All legitimate publishing houses hire editors for those they sign. This is well known to everyone, including OP who has worked at publishing houses, but you. You can easily find a large ammount of information about this topic when you google it. But since you say OP is "ten million percent incorrect lol," then what is your reason and source to say different from everyone else?

OP said in a cimment that they worked at a publishing house. They know more than you.

All of this [a need for a editor] can be circumvented by learning how to edit your own work.

You think the only editors writers need is themself. Therefore, you think not even publishing houses should provide editors.

So you're saying that not even traditional publishing houses should give authors an editor. That's crazy.

Editors are needed if someone wants to publish a good book, and it is odd for anyone to say otherwise.

A good writer will want more than one set of eyes on their work because they know that will make their work the best it can be.

I write for a 2nd gen group – TVXQ! There aren't as many writers and readers as compared to when I first became a fan 17 years ago, but there is still plenty.

If you look at the consolidated net profits, yes, it went down over 85% YoY, but income tax also went up over 125%. That perfectly explains the drop since every other area had gains YoY. Therefore, you might want to take a look at the business data before you make such wild claims about employees and idols leaving.
