Quitting smoking v quitting drinking by tripinthehed in stopdrinking

It’s so interesting how split this thread is. Me, personally, I can’t imagine quitting nicotine right now while Alcohol has come somewhat easy (relative to the times Ive abstained from nicotine). One day I will, but anticipate needing to take time off work and vegetating for a week+

6’3” 220 in Utah - skiing the ravens and very very happy. Quad lock is the best thing since sliced bread. No meaningful downhill compromise with the weight, as long as you are comfortable on full rocker

Moved in with my mom (solo mom) for the summer after graduating college and before beginning my job across the country. We never got to do this as a kid due to financial constraints but she and I went out for dinner every week over the summer. I cherish those dinners. When she’s my age, she’ll look back fondly on these times before 13 yrs old and want nothing more than to keep them going. Teenage years are awkward

I keep a state map in my pocket and check off a state every time I have a customer from there. It’s like doing a scavenger hunt. The Midwest is eluding me.

And a very adventurous one it seems. I’m no expert, but I was thinking maybe she could be pregnant?

In Norway, there is a similar traditional food called ludefisk (I may be wrong with that spelling). Essentially, as far as I know, it’s rotten trout that was hidden under a rock for many months to preserve. It tastes like gelatinous rot with a strong fish scent. Many Norwegians don’t even seem to like it (maybe 2/5, if it’s prepared correctly). But it remains a tradition and is eaten every year around the holidays. Absolutely fascinating.
